About the Extension
Your range as a room people walk through
A category page is a list. This element turns it into a room: subcategories stand as doors along the walls, the goods stand between them, and walking forward puts you in front of one. No theme change, no server GPU, lighting and glossy floors via WebGL — a shopping-experience element you place wherever you want it.
One world, not a chain of pages
Walk through a door and you stay in the same view. The next room is loaded in, the page does not change, the address bar follows along. That is why a single placement is enough for the whole category tree — you do not have to set up every category on its own.
Three levels deep: the home page shows the main categories as doors. Behind them stand the goods. And a step towards a product opens a room of its own for it, with the image gallery on one wall and the description on a wall screen on the other.
Controls nobody has to learn
- W A S D to walk, mouse or arrow keys to look around
- E or click opens whatever is in the crosshair — across the whole room, nobody has to walk over first
- Walking into it does the same; forwards only, so a step back does not change the level
- Q adds to the cart straight away
- C shows the cart, F toggles full screen
The cart stays in view
From the first item a rail stands in the room: positions, subtotal, the way to checkout. The subtotal is the same figure as in your shop's header, and checkout is your usual checkout with your payment methods, in the same window.
Four room styles, and one of them is you
Workshop is dark and industrial. Gallery is a bright hall in which the goods carry the room. Shop colours takes the brand colours and the typeface of your theme and builds a bright store from them — whoever does not sell tools does not get a workshop either. Or you pick your own colours.
Surfaces that suit the range
Floor, walls and ceiling carry a surface kind of your choosing: tiles, herringbone parquet, veined marble, carpet, brick in stretcher bond, wooden boards, plaster, coffered panels and a grid ceiling. The tiles are seamless and ship with the plugin; the browser tints them in your colour. Light comes with it: ceiling lamps, spots on the goods, soft shadows in the corners, and polished floors reflect. If you have your own images, you assign one per surface from the media manager.
What the shop says, the room says too
The price in the room is the same as on the product card beside it, including "from" pricing for tiered prices. The unit price stands next to the price. The tax notice stands fixed in the picture, in every room with prices. And buyable means the same as in the shop: stock, clearance and variants all count, so no buy button promises something the checkout will not accept.
Nobody is left outside
Below the room the same selection stands as an ordinary product list — with your shop's product cards in the first room, as a link list after a room change. It follows along as you move from room to room. Search engines read it, screen readers do too, and the room itself can be operated by keyboard.
