About the Extension

With the Stock Scarcity plugin, you can add a visual progress indicator directly on the product detail page – right above the "Add to Cart" button. This real-time indicator shows the current sales progress and product demand, creating a strong sense of urgency and highlighting how popular an item is. (Unlike a classic stock-remaining bar, the indicator is designed to increase as more units are sold.) In the backend, you can flexibly define when and where the indicator appears. Select individual products or entire dynamic product groups and customize the display text using variables. Choose between a percentage display (e.g., “35% reserved”) or an exact quantity (e.g., “Only 5 left”) – ideal for special promotions, clearance sales, or limited editions.Stock values are loaded via AJAX to optimize page performance and prevent interference with caching. You can also set an initial stock reduction, such as “Start with 15% less in stock,” which is perfect for psychological marketing strategies.
