About the Extension

Who it is for

Merchants who do not ship the same way everywhere: a beverage retailer with its own delivery van in the city, a garden centre moving plants regionally, a furniture store offering assembly in selected postal code areas.

The problem

Out of the box Shopware compares postal codes for equality or with a simple wildcard. Covering, say, all Berlin districts from 10115 to 14199 otherwise means entering hundreds of individual values.

The solution

The extension adds the operator "Regex" to the postal code conditions the Rule Builder already has. One pattern replaces long lists, and you keep working with your existing rules. One comparison operator is added, not a second rule system.

In the cart

Customers enter their postal code and see at once whether local delivery is available, with the delivery zone and the benefits of your own delivery. The shop picks the matching shipping method and can hide the other one.

Without rules: the radius

If you would rather not maintain rules, set a delivery radius around the shop's location instead. This fallback applies to German five-digit postal codes.

Do I need an external service or an API key?

No. Everything runs inside your shop. There is no account to create, no key to enter, and no request to a third party.

Does it work outside Germany?

The rule-based method does, for any postal code format worldwide — you write the pattern. The optional distance fallback is limited to German five-digit postal codes and is deliberately approximate.

Does it replace Shopware's rule builder?

No, it extends it. You keep working with the rules you already have and can combine postal codes with any other condition.

What happens if the customer changes their address after the check?

The checkout confirmation page checks the shipping address again and updates the shipping method accordingly.

Is customer data stored?

Only the postal code the customer typed, in their own session. It is deleted when the order is placed.

Can different sales channels have different delivery areas?

Yes. Every setting can be configured per sales channel.

How precise is the radius?

Coarse. It maps a postal code to the centre of its two-digit postal code area, for example "10" for central Berlin. Where the exact edge of your delivery area matters, use rules.

Removed: The setting "Automatically switch shipping method based on ZIP".
It had no effect; the customer still chooses the shipping method, and
non-applicable shipping methods can still be hidden.
Improved: If the postal code check on the order confirmation page fails,
the customer now sees an error message instead of no feedback.
Improved: All texts in the cart, the order confirmation page and the
error messages of the postal code check are translatable (snippets, German
and English). The distance is no longer shown twice.
Fixed: The postal code check now also works in sales channels with a
path in the domain (e.g. /en).
The postal code check no longer sends internal rule IDs and configured
patterns to the browser.
The check box and the delivery modal fully follow the theme colours.
Changed: Uninstalling now keeps conditions using the operator "Regex"
in their rules, switched to a value that never matches. Previously they were
deleted, and the rule then matched every customer, so a shipping or payment
method limited to a delivery area applied everywhere. After reinstalling,
enter the patterns again in the rule builder.
Deactivating, activating and uninstalling use the Shopware data layer for
rules with the operator "Regex".
Removed unused code, unified code comments.

2.2.0 6.6.9.0 - 6.7.15.0 2 October 2026

Fixed: after uninstalling or deactivating, every logged-in customer hit an
error in the cart. Rules using the additional regular expression operator
stayed in the database. Without the plugin Shopware does not know that operator
and aborts rule evaluation, which runs on every page a logged-in customer
opens. Anonymous visitors were unaffected, which is why this went unnoticed for
so long. Deactivating now switches such rules so that they no longer match, and
activating restores them unchanged. Uninstalling removes them, or keeps them if
the merchant asked to keep their data.
Store description added as STORE_DESCRIPTION.md, German and English, without
contact details or outbound links.

2.1.9 6.6.9.0 - 6.7.13.0 25 August 2026

The plugin icon has been reduced to the bare minimum. The Shopware review
has objected to it three times since 2.1.6 — most recently for a file that
provably contained none of the forbidden constructs any more. The file header
comment and the id / data-name attributes, which contribute nothing to the
rendering, are now gone as well. The artwork itself is unchanged: shapes,
colours, gradients and viewBox are untouched.
