About the Extension
With this app for Shopware 6, retailers can easily comply with the new EU information requirements on statutory warranties and voluntary guarantees in accordance with Directive (EU) 2024/825. From September 27, 2026, the uniform warranty and guarantee label will be mandatory – both in online stores and in brick-and-mortar retail. The app takes care of the entire technical implementation for you:
Automatic integration of the official EU label templates in all required language versions
Legally compliant display directly at the point of sale in the shop (colored, visible, not just in small print)
Support for warranty labels for voluntary durability guarantees from manufacturers
QR code integration with links to the EU information pages
Future-proof: adaptation to the final version of the label requirements (by September 2025 at the latest)
This reduces legal risks, prevents warnings, and saves time in technical implementation. The app ensures that your store is fully compliant – without additional development effort.
FAQ
Q: Can you change the label design?
A: The design is required by law, but we will change it if the regulations change.
Q: Where do I store the manufacturer's warranty?
A: In the admin area under Catalog > Manufacturers, click on the corresponding name and scroll down. Enter the warranty in years, as a number only, without any additional information.
Q: Why do I have to clear the cache? Why doesn't your plugin do that?
A: Because it is an app that does not have access to your shop at this point.
Q: Why is the label in the small pop-up cart?
A: Because that is the one step a buyer cannot skip, whereas the rest of the checkout process might be bypassed by using express payment methods.

Install the app.
Under Extensions -> Fishn Legal Guarantee Label to configure the settings.
Please remember to clear the shop's cache after changes.
If you want to enable or disable the guarantee for all products at once, use the corresponding button.
If you want the ERP system to set guarantees automatically, check the checkbox and click Save Configuration.
You can choose whether to display the Article Number, the EAN, or the Manufacturer Product Number on the Commercial Manufacturer's Warranty on the product information page.
You can also select, in each product's custom fields, which guarantee(s) to show: Statutory Guarantee of Conformity, Commercial Manufacturer's Warranty or both
In the manufacturer's custom fields, you can define the voluntary warranty period (in years), which will be displayed on the Commercial Manufacturer's Warranty section of the product information page.
Every display on your shop opens a modal on click, the modal will open a large image with an additional description.
In the configuration, under Product listing, Product information, Cart and Checkout confirmation, you can choose independently for each of these locations how the legal guarantee label is displayed: Don't show (the label is not shown at that location at all), Show small image (default) — a small preview icon is shown, opening the full label in a modal on click — or Show large image — the full Statutory Guarantee of Conformity label is shown directly, without requiring a click.
Checkout confirmation page
The legal guarantee label can also be shown on the checkout confirmation page (/checkout/confirm), the last step before "Submit order". It uses the setting "Checkout: legal guarantee label display" (Don't show / Show small image / Show large image).
- Small image: a small clickable badge is placed directly under the "Submit order" button and opens the full label in a modal.
- Large image: the full label is shown below the whole checkout layout. Its maximum width can be set in "Checkout: large image max width (px)" (default 800, minimum 100). On narrower screens it scales down automatically.
- The label is shown once per checkout page. Only the Statutory Guarantee of Conformity is shown here, not the Commercial Manufacturer's Warranty.
Checkout: custom label position (optional)
If your theme shows the label at an unsuitable position on the checkout confirmation page, you can choose the position yourself. Enter a CSS selector in "Checkout: CSS selector for label position (optional)", for example #fishn-label-spot (an ID, recommended because it is unique) or .checkout--additional-options.
- The label (small or large image) is then placed at the end of the content of the first element that matches the selector. The display mode and the large image max width keep applying.
- If the field is empty, the selector is invalid, or no element matches, nothing breaks: the label simply stays at its default position.
- Only a plain CSS selector is allowed: maximum 255 characters, and the characters < > { } are not accepted. In that case an error is shown and the setting is not saved.
- This only affects the checkout confirmation page, and only if the checkout display is not set to "Don't show". The modal of the small label is not moved, so it keeps working in any theme.
- The setting applies to the whole shop (not per sales channel). Please clear the shop's cache after saving.
- Note: the label is moved by a small inline script. If your shop enforces a strict Content-Security-Policy that blocks inline scripts, the label stays at its default position.
If you don't want to enable the Commercial Manufacturer's Warranty manually for every single product, you can use dynamic product groups instead. Check "Use dynamic product groups for commercial manufacturer's warranty" and select one or more dynamic product groups from the dropdown. A dynamic product group is a rule-based group you define under Catalogues → Dynamic product groups in Shopware (e.g. "all products in category X" or "all products from manufacturer Y"). Once enabled, every product that matches any of the selected groups will automatically show the Commercial Manufacturer's Warranty — you no longer need to set it per product. You must select at least one dynamic product group for this option to be saved; otherwise the configuration will show an error.
If you want a product to show a different warranty period than the manufacturer, set Commercial warranty years (product override) in that product's custom fields. If this field is empty, the manufacturer value is used.
After clicking on the buttons in the configuration, you need to clear the shop cache to make sure that the changes will be loaded on your store.
Additional plugin: order confirmation email attachment
In addition to this app, we offer a separate, optional plugin: Fishn Legal Guarantee Label Email Attachment (FishnLegalGuaranteeLabelEmailAttachment). It is not part of this app — it is a standalone download that needs to be installed separately.
Download: you can find the plugin here: https://free-downloads.fishnet-services.com/
What does the plugin do?
If an order contains at least one product with the statutory guarantee enabled ("statutory_guarantee"), the plugin automatically attaches the guarantee label image to the order confirmation email. If multiple products in the order are affected, only a single attachment is added. The language of the label matches the language of the order (fallback: English).
Installation & configuration:
Download the plugin from the link above, then install and activate it as usual from your Shopware admin (Extensions > My extensions). Afterwards, go to Extensions > Fishn Legal Guarantee Label Email Attachment > Config, where you'll find the switch "Attach to order confirmation email" (default: No). The label is only attached to the order confirmation email once you enable this switch.
Important: this plugin requires the app described above (specifically the "Statutory Guarantee of Conformity" custom field on the product) in order to work. Please also remember to clear the shop's cache after any configuration change here.
FAQ
Q: I have a lot of products and want to update them all at once, but my server keeps timing out—what should I do?
A: Because this extension is implemented as an app (not a plugin), it is not possible to provide a custom CLI command to handle large batch updates.
Recommended Solution
As a workaround, you can execute the following SQL queries directly on your database to update all products at once.
Important: these queries overwrite the custom_fields value of every row in product_translation. Create a full database backup first (rollback = restore that backup, or run the opposite query below). Run them on a staging copy first if possible.
Set statutory guarantee of conformity for all products
Activate:
UPDATE product_translation
SET custom_fields = JSON_SET(
COALESCE(custom_fields, '{}'),
'$.statutory_guarantee', 1
);
Deactivate:
UPDATE product_translation
SET custom_fields = JSON_SET(
COALESCE(custom_fields, '{}'),
'$.statutory_guarantee', 0
);
Set commercial manufacturer's warranty for all products
Activate:
UPDATE product_translation
SET custom_fields = JSON_SET(
COALESCE(custom_fields, '{}'),
'$.commercial_manufacturer_warranty', 1
);
Deactivate:
UPDATE product_translation
SET custom_fields = JSON_SET(
COALESCE(custom_fields, '{}'),
'$.commercial_manufacturer_warranty', 0
);
Q: How do the custom fields for the guarantee/warranty labels work internally?
A: These values are not plain database columns — they are Shopware custom fields, stored as JSON inside the custom_fields column. That column lives on the translation table of each entity, not on the entity's main table.
Concretely: product_translation.custom_fields holds the product-level values, and product_manufacturer_translation.custom_fields holds the manufacturer-level value. Since these tables are keyed by language_id, every language your shop has installed gets its own separate row — and its own separate copy of custom_fields — for the same product or manufacturer.
On product_translation, the relevant keys inside custom_fields are:
- statutory_guarantee (1/0, true/false — statutory conformity label)
- commercial_manufacturer_warranty (1/0, true/false — commercial warranty label)
- product_voluntary_warranty_years (integer — overrides the manufacturer's warranty duration for this one product; leave empty to inherit from the manufacturer)
On product_manufacturer_translation, the relevant key is:
- voluntary_warranty_years (integer — the manufacturer's default warranty duration, used whenever a product doesn't set its own override)
Q: I use an ERP system — into which database fields do I need to write the data?
A: Since these are JSON custom fields rather than plain columns, your ERP needs to write to the same keys described above:
product_translation.custom_fields (once per language your shop has installed):
- statutory_guarantee: 1 or 0
- commercial_manufacturer_warranty: 1 or 0
- product_voluntary_warranty_years: integer, or leave empty to inherit from the manufacturer
product_manufacturer_translation.custom_fields (once per language):
- voluntary_warranty_years: integer, or leave empty/0 if this manufacturer grants no commercial warranty
Because these tables are keyed by language_id, your ERP must write the value for every language you want the label to appear in — a value written for only one language will not show up for shop visitors browsing in another.
