About the Extension

Order Notes & Checkout Fields

Give your customers a voice at the checkout. The InftOrderNotes plugin by 24infotech adds up to three configurable text fields directly to the Shopware 6 order-confirm page — so shoppers can leave an order note, a gift message, or any custom information you need, without any extra steps.

All submitted values are saved as custom fields on the order and are visible both in the Shopware administration and in the customer's order-detail view — no data is ever lost.

Order Note

A free-text textarea (up to 1,000 characters) for special delivery or handling instructions. The label and placeholder text are fully customisable per sales channel directly in the plugin configuration.

Gift Message

A dedicated textarea (up to 500 characters) so customers can attach a personal message when sending a gift. Enable or disable it independently of the other fields.

Custom Text Field

A flexible single-line input (up to 255 characters) for any extra information you want to collect — for example "How did you hear about us?". The field is disabled by default and can be switched on whenever you need it.

Administration & Order History

Every field value is stored as a Shopware custom field on the order entity. Values appear in the customer's order-detail page in the storefront and are accessible in the Shopware administration under the order's custom fields section.

Lightweight & Conflict-Free

The plugin uses Shopware's native event system, custom-field API, and Twig block inheritance. It does not override core controllers or templates, keeping it fully compatible with other plugins and theme updates.

Installation

Upload the plugin ZIP in your Shopware administration under Extensions → My Extensions → Upload Extension, then click Install and Activate. The plugin automatically creates the required custom field set (inft_order_notes) and three custom fields (inft_order_note, inft_gift_message, inft_custom_field) on the order entity.

Plugin Configuration

Go to Extensions → My Extensions, find Order Notes & Checkout Fields and click Configure. Settings can be saved globally or overridden per sales channel.

General Settings

Enable Plugin — Master switch. When disabled, no fields are shown at checkout and no data is collected, regardless of the individual field settings below.

Order Note Field :-

Enable Order Note field — Show or hide the Order Note textarea at checkout.
Order Note Label — The heading shown above the textarea (default: "Order Note").
Order Note Placeholder — Hint text inside the empty textarea (default: "Any special instructions for your order?").

Gift Message Field

Enable Gift Message field — Show or hide the Gift Message textarea.
Gift Message Label — The heading shown above the textarea (default: "Gift Message").
Gift Message Placeholder — Hint text inside the empty textarea (default: "Write a personal message for the recipient...").

Custom Text Field

Enable Custom Text field — Disabled by default. Enable to show a single-line input at checkout.
Custom Field Label — The heading shown above the input (default: "How did you hear about us?").
Custom Field Placeholder — Hint text inside the empty input (default: "e.g. Google, Instagram, Friend...").

Viewing Saved Data

After an order is placed, the entered values can be found in two places:

Shopware Administration: Open the order under Orders → Overview, scroll to the Custom Fields section and look for the fields prefixed with inft_.

Storefront: Customers can see their submitted notes in My Account → Orders → Order Detail under the "Your Order Information" section.

Uninstallation

When uninstalling the plugin you will be asked whether to keep or delete customer data. If you choose to delete, all three custom fields and the custom field set are permanently removed from the database.
