About the Extension

Buy back used products straight from your shop

Trade-In adds a buyback and trade-in request to your product pages. Customers who want to sell an item back to you open the form below the buy button, enter the quantity and the condition of their item and send the request with a single click. You decide per product whether you pay a fixed price per item or whether customers propose their own price.

This turns occasional buyback enquiries by email into structured requests with product, quantity, price and contact details already in place. It suits refurbishing, second-hand and recommerce businesses as well as retailers who want to take back older devices when customers upgrade.

Fixed price or customer offer, set per product

In fixed-price mode the form shows exactly what you pay per item, including or excluding VAT to match how your customers see prices. You can maintain the trade-in price for each currency or let other currencies be converted from your default currency automatically. In customer-offer mode customers enter their desired price per item, and you review it before you accept or reject the request.

For every product you can limit the quantity per request and add a short note above the form, for example which condition you accept. The note is translatable, so customers read it in their own language. Variants use the settings of their main product unless you give a variant its own.

Every request in one place

All requests appear in the Administration under Orders with their own request number. The overview can be searched and filtered by status, submission date, product, customer and sales channel, and you can change the status of several requests at once. The detail page shows the customer's contact data and message, the price per item as net and gross value with the total, a field for internal notes and a complete status history with date and staff member.

Requests move through clear stages: new, in review, accepted, rejected and completed, and a decision can be reopened for another review.

Automatic emails you can adjust

When a request is submitted, the customer receives a confirmation and your admin users get a notification with all details. Accepting, rejecting or completing a request sends a matching status email to the customer. All emails run through ready-made Flow Builder flows and editable email templates, so you can change texts and recipients, deactivate single emails or add further actions.

Control and data protection

  • Allow requests from guests or only from logged-in customers, per sales channel
  • Protect the form with your shop's captcha and a submission rate limit
  • Delete old requests automatically after a retention period of your choice

Requests of registered customers are removed together with the customer account, and guest requests can be found by email address and deleted when someone asks for erasure.
