About the Extension

Your own columns in Shopping Experiences

The layout editor gives you a full-width section and a sidebar section. Many layouts need more: text next to an image and a card, a row of four teasers, a sidebar on the right. The Grid section adds a section type with up to 12 columns, and every column holds as many blocks as you like: text, images, product sliders, forms or the blocks of other extensions.

Responsive, without code

Presets for common layouts: 50/50, 33/33/33, 4 × 25, 25/75, 25/50/25 and more.
Widths per screen size on the 12-column Bootstrap grid, from phones (xs) to wide screens (xxl). An empty field takes the width of the smaller screen size, so you only fill in what changes.
Live preview of every screen size in the settings, with a warning when columns don't fit on a line.
Hide a column on some screen sizes, for example an extra image on phones.
Column gap and vertical alignment per row.

Made for the layout editor

The editor shows the grid like the storefront, for the device you preview. Columns hidden on that device are greyed out.
Drop blocks into any column, and move them between columns in the navigator.
Sidebar columns show their blocks as in a sidebar section. Add your own CSS classes per column.
When you lower the number of columns, their blocks move to the last column: no content gets lost.

Good to know

Uses the Bootstrap 5 grid of the Shopware storefront: works with the default theme and themes based on it, without extra CSS or JavaScript.
Administration in English, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish and Danish.
Uninstalling without keeping data turns grid sections into normal sections, so your content stays.

The plugin worked flawlessly in Shopware 6.4. In Shopware 6.5, elements were no longer displayed within the grid in the backend. The elements first had to be moved from the grid to another section in the Navigator view. Once moved, the elements became visible and could be edited again. After editing, the elements could be dragged back into the grid. It was annoying, but it worked somehow. In Shopware 6.7, the plugin doesn’t work at all anymore. You can no longer edit or save the elements in the grid. The backend freezes completely. Not recommended. Extremely annoying.

I have been looking for a flexible way of performing even complex layouts in Shopware for a long time. This plugin nails it! By clicking the + at the Shopping Experiences editing page, you can add a new type of section, where you can manage layout exactly by allocating the number of Shopwares 12 bootstrap columns you want each of your horizontal sections to take up. You can then add any content block to that section. I LOVE that author included the option to add a CSS class to each of the plugins sections. This allows customization to your hearts desire. Also nice that you have fine control over breakpoints for a fully responsive grid. All in all powerfull stuff - well done Laenen, all your plugins are definetely on my radar now!

wertvolles und super flexibles Grid / Raster Plugin

Wir haben lange gesucht bis wir so ein wertvolles Grid Plugin gefunden haben. Anfangs etwas schwer zu verstehen wie es genau funktioniert, waren wir um so überraschter was man damit alles machen kann. Endlich kann man alle Layout Wünsche realisieren. Der Plugin Hersteller antwortet schnell und das Team ist hier super freundlich und hilfsbereit. Selbst ein Wunsch wurde in wirklich kurzer Zeit umgesetzt. Dafür möchten wir uns bedanken.

Which layouts are possible?

Any layout with 1 to 12 columns on the 12-unit Bootstrap grid. Start from one of the presets, then adjust the width of every column per screen size.

Are the columns responsive?

Yes. You set the widths per screen size, from phones (xs) to wide screens (xxl), and can hide columns on some screen sizes. Columns that don't fit on a line move to the next one.

Does it work with my theme?

It uses the standard Bootstrap 5 classes of the Shopware storefront (col-*, g-*, d-*-none), so it works with the default theme and themes based on it. No extra CSS or JavaScript is loaded.

Can I use blocks of other extensions?

Yes. A column takes any block of the layout editor, from Shopware or from other extensions.

What happens to my layouts when I uninstall the extension?

If you keep the data, the grid sections stay and work again after a new installation. If you remove the data, grid sections become normal full-width sections with all their blocks, one column after the other.
