Banners for the pages that matter
Most shops change the same three places all the time: the homepage hero, the banner for this week's campaign and the header of a category. With Digital Publishing – Layered Banners & Sliders, your marketing team builds them in the Shopware Admin and publishes them without opening an image editor or creating a ticket for a developer.
- Homepage hero: a full-width photo, a big headline in your brand font, a short line of text and a button that links to your new collection.
- Campaign banners: a sale banner with a colour overlay and an eye-catching headline. Duplicate it for the next campaign, swap the texts and you're done.
- Category headers: a banner at the top of each category page that explains the range and links to the bestsellers.
- Sliders: combine several banners in a slider and decide the order yourself.
An editor made for marketers
Open Content > Digital Publishing Banners, create a banner and add layers from the toolbar: title, text, image, rectangle or video. Drag them into place and resize them on the canvas, then fine-tune position, size, anchor and click action in the sidebar. Every layer can link to a page, a product or an external site.
Titles get a full typography panel: your theme fonts, any Google Font from a searchable list, or a custom font from your theme, plus size, weight, spacing and colour. Drag the handles of a title to scale the text. The editor shows Google Fonts as they will look. Theme fonts are previewed with a stand-in font, so check the final look in your storefront.
Then go to Shopping Experiences, add a Digital Publishing Banner or Banner Slider block, and choose your banners from a grid with live previews. In a slider you can move banners up and down, remove them, or open one in a new tab to edit it.
Responsive without extra work
A banner has one layout that adapts to the screen. Use % for positions and sizes and layers scale with the banner. Titles shrink with narrower banners, so a 72px headline on desktop still fits on a phone, and you decide the minimum size. Layers set "in container" line up with your page content on wide screens. Banner blocks in full-width sections don't cause a horizontal scrollbar.
Good for search engines and accessibility
Everything on the banner is real HTML, not text baked into an image. Search engines can read it and visitors can select it. Choose the heading level of each title (h1–h6) to fit the structure of your page. Images have alt texts and titles, and links have labels for screen readers.
Using a Google Font? It's loaded from Google's servers, which shares your visitors' IP addresses with Google, so mention it in your privacy policy, or use your theme fonts instead.
Every language
Switch the content language in the editor to translate texts, titles, images, alt texts and links. The layout stays the same in every language, and translation mode locks it so nothing moves by accident.
Extensible
Developers can register new layer types in the Administration and add a matching storefront template. They can override every part of the storefront output through Twig blocks, and read banners and layers through the Shopware API, including custom fields on layers.
