About the Extension

The Staging Safety Layer for Shopware

SafeStage is not just a simple test mode. It is a safety layer for staging, QA, demo and preview environments. The extension helps reduce common risks when working with production-like shops: real customer emails, unintended external webhooks, search engine indexing, unclear test states and accidental live actions.

SafeStage combines key protection features in one globally controlled mode. Outgoing emails are redirected, subject lines are marked, CC and BCC recipients are removed and original recipients are logged for traceability. Admin and storefront banners make the active safety mode immediately visible.

For staging systems, SafeStage also adds technical protection such as X-Robots-Tag, robots.txt rules and a Flow/Webhook Guard. External calls can be logged, blocked or rerouted to defined sandbox targets. This gives agencies, development teams and merchants better control over outgoing communication and integrations.

Optionally, checkout can be guarded against accidental live payments by blocking or clearly marking payment methods that are not approved for test mode.
