About the Extension

Who is this app for?

Many products should be equipped with additional information such as instructions (PDF), documentation, data sheets, technical drawings or other general data, so that the customer can receive more detailed information in addition to general descriptions (often supplied by the manufacturer). This app allows you to quickly and easily assign these media files (all files of the Media Manager are supported!) to each product and output them in a separate tab. Within the tab all assigned downloads are displayed as a list (mobile support as offcanvas menu). You can decide, for example, via a general app configuration, whether the user should download the file directly when clicking on a link, or whether it should simply be opened in a new browser tab.

Active

You can easily enable or disable the app per sales channel.

Show tab title

This setting determines whether the heading (title of the tab) should be displayed. You can translate the tab name or the prefix of the tab heading in the snippet modules.

Display download prefix

Within the download list, a prefix ("Download") is displayed before each file name/title by default. This prefix can be translated in the snippet modules or simply deactivated here.

Force link download

As mentioned at the beginning, you can use this setting to determine whether the file should be downloaded directly when you click on a link. A passive setting controls that the user can simply view the file in a new additional browser tab.

Show badge

You can optionally display the number of linked documents as a "badge" in the tab.

Link name

Preferably the title of the media file is taken per download - this title can be saved language-dependent in the Media Manager! If a media file has no title, the media name (the file name without file extension) is used as an alternative.

Generell funktioniert der Downloadreiter super. Wenn mal was nicht funktionieren sollte, dann reagiert der Support schnell.

Zumindest brauche ich es dafür. Funktioniert einwandfrei, ohne viel Schnickschnack, selbsterklärend! Top Plugin, kann ich nur empfehlen!

I need more than 10 downloas per products - is that possible?

Yes! By default, 10 downloads are created as custom fields for you in the app. However, the app is designed and programmed so that the additional fields are possible. This means that you can store as many additional fields as you like in the additional field set "Downloads", which will then be available to you. How this works exactly is explained in the installation instructions.

Which titles are being displayed?

Preferably the title of the media file. This title can be stored language-dependently in the media manager per file. If the linked files do not have a title, the "Name" is used as an alternative. This is unique and is automatically assigned when uploading files.

This extension is available twice in the store - what's the difference?

Shopware has two different systems for programming extensions: Plugins and apps. Plugins can only be used in "self-hosted" stores, apps in "self-hosted" as well in "cloud" stores. The plugin system is older and therefore all of our extensions are initially designed for this system. In order to support all Shopware environments (self-hosted and cloud), we subsequently design and transfer the extensions to the app system. As this differs technologically from the plugin system, the development of the extensions for both systems must be considered separately - for this reason, some extensions are available in two versions. Which version is right for you should be decided according to the installation environment and the future perspective/orientation of your shop. This extension is a "plugin" that supports "self-hosted" stores.

All files supported by the Media Manager: PDFs, images, videos ...
