Shops with many categories know the struggle: the Shopware admin category tree loads fully expanded by default – hundreds of entries at once, hard to navigate, endless scrolling. The Admin Category Tree Memory plugin solves this by starting the tree collapsed and remembering exactly what you last had open.

Features in Detail

Start Collapsed – Configurable Depth

Choose how deep the category tree should open on load in the plugin settings. Depth 0 shows only root categories, depth 1 opens the first level, depth 2 the first two levels, and so on. For shops with fewer categories, simply set a higher depth to keep the tree fully open.

Automatic State Save and Restore

Whenever you expand or collapse branches in the category tree, the plugin saves your personal state in the browser (localStorage). The next time you open category management, you see exactly what you had open last time – no manual re-expanding required.

"Collapse All" Button

Navigated deep into the tree and want to get back to the overview quickly? One click on the "Collapse all" button in the category tree header collapses all open branches and saves the state instantly.

Auto-Expand to Active Category

When you navigate to a category directly via URL or from search results, the plugin automatically expands the path to that category and scrolls it into view – so you always know exactly where you are in the tree.

Consistent Across the Admin

The plugin works not only in Catalogues → Categories, but also in product assignment (edit product → Categories tab) and in sales channel settings (Settings → Sales Channels → [Channel] → General). The same consistent experience everywhere.
