Automatic SEO title and description for products and categories

Installation is easy via the Shopware Store directly within your administration. Alternatively, you can add the extension manually: simply download the .zip file from your Shopware account and upload it either via FTP or by using the 'Upload extension' button under  My extensions.

Configuration

All settings for configuring the plugin can be found under Extensions -> My Extensions -> Link "Configure" for the plugin

After saving changes to the configuration, please always clear the cache under Settings -> Caches & Indexes.

The settings are divided into four sections:

1. SEO Meta Title (Product)

• Enable automatic Meta Title: On/Off per Sales Channel. When enabled, the template is used for products without an existing SEO title.
• Meta Title Template: Snippet-based mutoSeoTemplate.metaTitleTemplate. You can customize the text per language using the globe icon. Example: Buy {{#productname}} cheap | {{#brand}}

2. SEO Meta Description (Product)

• Enable automatic Meta Description: On/Off per Sales Channel.
• Meta Description Template: Snippet mutoSeoTemplate.metaDescriptionTemplate, multilingual. Example: Discover {{#productname}} from {{#brand}} at a great price.

3. SEO Meta Title (Category)

• Enable automatic Meta Title for categories: On/Off.
• Category Meta Title Template: Snippet mutoSeoTemplate.categoryMetaTitleTemplate. Example: {{#categoryname}} – Overview

4. SEO Meta Description (Category)

• Enable automatic Meta Description for categories: On/Off.
• Category Meta Description Template: Snippet mutoSeoTemplate.categoryMetaDescriptionTemplate. Example: Explore our wide range of {{#categoryname}} products. High quality, great prices, and fast shipping – find exactly what you need and shop online today!

Important: After making changes to templates or configuration, clear the cache (e.g., in the Admin under Settings → Clear Caches) so that the adjustments become visible in the storefront.

Placeholders

Placeholders are written in the template in the format {{#placeholdername}}. Unknown or misspelled placeholders will appear empty; the page remains error-free.

Product Templates (Meta Title & Description Product)

• {{#productname}} – Product name (translated)
• {{#brand}} – Manufacturer name
• {{#price}} – Unit price including currency
• {{#deliverytime}} – Delivery time (name)
• {{#productnumber}} – Product number
• {{#category}} – Name of the primary category

Product Custom Fields: For any product custom fields, you can use {{#custom_technical_name}}, e.g., {{#custom_my_field}}. The technical name must start with custom_. If the field or value is missing, nothing is output. No further configuration is necessary – all {{#custom_*}} placeholders used in the template are automatically filled from the product's custom fields.

Category Templates (Meta Title & Description Category)

• {{#categoryname}} – Category name
• {{#categorydescription}} – Category description

Category Custom Fields: Similar to products: {{#custom_technical_name}} for category custom fields (e.g., {{#custom_category_teaser}}). Values are pulled from the category's custom fields.

Multilingualism

Template texts are stored as snippets. In the plugin configuration, you can edit entries per language by clicking the globe icon next to the snippet fields. This allows you to have different meta titles and descriptions for German and English, for example.

Snippet keys in the system:

• mutoSeoTemplate.metaTitleTemplate
• mutoSeoTemplate.metaDescriptionTemplate
• mutoSeoTemplate.categoryMetaTitleTemplate
• mutoSeoTemplate.categoryMetaDescriptionTemplate

If a snippet does not exist for a specific language, the default value or an empty title/description will be used.
