How to setup and configure product-specific Tabs?

1. Install and activate the extension.

2. Go to Catalogues -> Products and open the detail page of the desired Product.

3. There is a new Tab called "Tabs" next to "Reviews". Here you can create / edit / delete Tabs for the specific Product.

You need to select a Rule from the RuleBuilder Dropdown to create and save a new Tab. If you don't want any conditions, you can choose "Always Valid (Default)" as an alternative.

In the radio-select next to it, you can activate or deactivate the Tab. Right under it you need to declare the Tab-Name (Important: read part about Inheritance below, it is triggered by Tab-Name).

4. In the text-area editor, you can add the Tabs Content.

How to setup and configure global Tabs?

1. Install and activate the extension.

2. Go to Content -> Tab Overview. Here you can create / edit / delete Global Tabs and also Product Tabs.

3. Select a Rule (required, you can use "Always Valid (Default)" as an alternative) and activate the Radio-Checkbox "Global". This will automatically empty the selectionm in the "Product"-Dropdown next to it.

4. You need to declare the Tab-Name (Important: read part about Inheritance below, it is triggered by Tab-Name) and set the Tab to Active.

5. In the text-area editor, you can add the Tab Content.

How to configure PropertyGroup-Value specific Content for Tabs?

You can add custom Content to PropertyGroup-Values, that is being displayed when a specific product hast the specific propertygroup-value assigned.

To configure this custom Content for PropertyGroup-Values go to "Catalogue" -> "Properties" and open a Property. There you choose the desired Property values and open it. Here you can add the Custom Content with a WYSIWYG.-Editor.

How to configure Rules?

1. Go to Settings -> RuleBuilder and use the Shopware Default RuleBuilder (look up Shopware Documentation for usage)

Variant-Tab Inheritance Logic:

We have implemented an inheritance logic for parent-product tabs and child-variant tabs, that enables you to override or also deactivate certain tabs on child variants.

By default, we implemented the following inheritance: Every Child/Variant Product inherits all tabs from the parent product (at this point regardless of rule/conditions, they are checked afterwards). Tabs configured as "Global" don't interefere with this, they are handled seperately.

The custom-inheritance for variants now works as following:

a) Override parent Tab-Content with variant Tab-Content

If a parent-product has a tab with the tab-name "demotab" and a child/variant also has a tab with the identical tab-name "demotab", then the variant-tab will override the parent-tab! This enables you to show, for example, more specific details on a variant, that do not apply to the parent-product, etc..

b) Disable / Hide parent Tab on variant

The scenario is similiar to overriding, which means you configure a tab on the variant-product with the identical name as on the parent-product. Now to hide / disable the parent-tab on the variant-tab, you simply need to toggle the "active" checkbox in the tab-configuration to "Off". This prevents the parent-tab to be shown on the variant completely.
