About the Extension
With the Rule Builder extension, you can use the CMS blocks to play out individual content per article or article variant, without having to resort to additional fields or create new experience layouts.
Important:This plugin requires the Shopware 6 extension: "CMS Extensions for Shopware 6", as this can be used to define the visibility of individual CMS blocks.
Use cases:
Additional content for selected articles
Normally, the majority of articles created in Shopware are based on an identical product layout.However, if selected articles are to be enriched with additional information (e.g. additional content blocks, image galleries, sample order forms, ... ), these must usually either be integrated via additional fields or new product layouts must be created.
However, using the Rule Builder extension, you can extend your product layout so that CMS blocks defined by you are only displayed for previously selected products.
Example:
Initial situation: all articles have an identical product layout.
Desired scenario: articles A, B and C should be supplemented with an order form for color and material samples, the rest of the layout should remain identical.
Solution:
Creation of a new rule that applies only to the product pages of items A, B, and C.
Extension of the existing layout by an additional CMS block for ordering the color and material samples
Restricting the visibility of the CMS block using the previously created rule
Different content per article variant
In Shopware you currently only have the option to assign the product layout to the main article. Different content for different article variants can therefore only be played out via the Shopware standard fields or the additional fields.
However, through the Rule Builder extension, you can ensure that different content can be played out per variant.
Example:
Initial situation: article A has three variants
Desired scenario: the three article variants (e.g.: fabric, linen, and leather version) should be illustrated and described differently
Solution:
Creation of three new rules, each of which applies only to the product pages of the fabric, linen, and leather variants.
Extension of the existing product layout by three additional CMS blocks for the contents of the different variants
Restricting the visibility of the respective CMS block using the previously created rules.
Configuration:
Create one or more new rule(s) in the Rule Builder and select the newly added option "Product Page" as attribute.
Now select the product pages for which you want to play out different content.
In the product layout, create one or more new CMS blocks that will contain the additional information.
Restrict the visibility of the respective CMS blocks with the previously defined rules.
