About the Extension

Sell gift cards the way you sell products.

With the next Gift Card Suite, every product in your shop can become a gift card. One switch on the product is enough, the purchase price becomes the card value. There is no separate gift card product type and no duplicate catalogue to maintain. Experiences and themed bundles become giftable too.

As soon as payment is received, the plugin generates a secure code for every purchased unit and sends it by e-mail, optionally with a PDF in your own design.

One field for every code

Your customers do not need to know whether they hold a gift card or a promotion code. The redeem field accepts both and applies the code correctly. If you like, it replaces Shopware's separate coupon field entirely.

Store credit you can see

Redeemed gift cards show up as a separate line item in the cart, capped at the remaining balance and the payable amount. The remaining balance is displayed right on the line. Unused credit stays on the card for later orders. In the checkout, customers pick their cards in the "Pay with gift card" panel and pay the rest as usual.

Gift card designs without an agency

The built-in editor lets you design gift card PDFs on a free canvas: text, code, value, personal message, images, QR code and shapes. Five fonts are included. The preview on the product page shows exactly what the PDF will look like. Designs can be assigned to specific gift card products or made available everywhere.

Built to be safe

Balance bookings are atomic and safe under concurrency, the same code cannot be spent twice. When an order is cancelled, redeemed credit is booked back automatically. Repeated invalid code entries are throttled. Every movement is recorded in the transaction history.

The plugin works with the default theme and picks up the colors of your active theme. All features can be configured per sales channel.

- Vendor-prefixed routes: all storefront routes now live under

/checkout/nextlevels/gift-card/… and /account/nextlevels/gift-cards

(route names starting with frontend.nextlevels). QR codes in PDFs issued before this

version still point to the old path /account/gift-cards.

- Shopware rate limiter instead of a custom attempt table: code entries in

the cart and the customer account go through the core rate limiter

(nextlevels_gift_card_code, time backoff from 10 attempts per minute); the

message states the waiting time. CodeAttemptLimiter and the

nl_gift_card_attempt table are gone (the legacy table is removed on

uninstall).

- Migrations renamed to real timestamps.

- Administration: snippets are loaded automatically; the design editor and

the design detail page use Meteor components (mt- prefix), lifecycle methods

(createdComponent …) and no native DOM/window listeners; loading errors

are shown as notifications.

- Error handling: no silent catch blocks; try/catch is narrowed to the

calls that need it and to specific exceptions, failures are logged.

- Gift card mail in the order language: the mail template and the expiry

date (localised date format) follow the order's language; the PDF file name

comes from a snippet (gift-card-… / gutschein-…).

- Fix: gift card products whose gift card flag is only maintained in the

default language can now be added to the cart in other storefront languages

and are issued correctly.

- satis.json is no longer part of the store ZIP.
