About the Extension

Handle returns right inside the Shopware order – per line item, with a dedicated credit note document and an optional stock restock. Instead of coarse full cancellations, you refund exactly the items and quantities the customer sends back.

Installation

Get the plugin from the Shopware Marketplace via your account, or upload the ZIP file manually under „Extensions → My extensions“.
Under „Extensions → My extensions“, install and then activate the plugin.
Shopware clears the cache automatically. If the Returns tab does not appear right away, clear it once via „Settings → System → Caches“.

Where do I find returns in the admin?

The plugin integrates directly into the order detail page – there is no separate menu. Open an order; next to the existing tabs you will find the new „Returns“ tab.

Creating a return

Open the order and switch to the line-item grid.
Select the items to be returned and start via the bulk action „Create return“ or the per-row context menu.
In the modal, choose the quantity, the reason and optionally the stock restock per item. If the order has shipping costs, their refund can be enabled.
Confirm – the return appears in the „Returns“ tab as its own card with status open.

Processing and completing a return

In the „Returns“ tab, control the status per return via the status dropdown (open → in progress) and add an internal note if needed.
Edit the shipping-cost refund directly in the breakdown – server-side capped to the order’s remaining budget.
Finalise the return with „Complete“. In the dialog you can optionally create the credit note and send it to the customer by email. On completion, the stock restock is performed if enabled.
The status tab per return shows a live-verified checklist (done, credit note created, stock restocked, credit note sent) including warnings on inconsistencies.

Mails and Flow Builder

When a return is created, mails to the customer and the merchant can be triggered automatically; on completion the credit note is attached as a PDF. The return’s state changes (in progress, done, cancelled) are available as triggers in the Flow Builder, so you can build your own notifications per transition.

Uninstalling

Under „Extensions → My extensions“, deactivate and uninstall the plugin. Credit note documents that were already generated are kept; only the plugin’s return number range is removed.
