About the Extension

Faster loading times with zero effort: This plugin automatically converts your JPEG and PNG images to the modern WebP and AVIF formats in the background and serves them intelligently in the storefront. Browsers that do not support the new formats automatically receive the original – no action required on your side.

Why WebP and AVIF?

Modern image formats are significantly smaller than JPEG and PNG – at the same visual quality. Smaller images mean faster pages, better Core Web Vitals and happier customers. Google explicitly recommends serving images in next-gen formats in its PageSpeed insights.

How it works

1. Install and activate the plugin – the default settings are ready to use.
2. New images are converted automatically on upload, your existing library is handled by the hourly background task.
3. The storefront immediately serves WebP and AVIF with a safe fallback to the original – including all thumbnail sizes and lazy loading.
