About the Extension

Sell products before they are available. Pre-Order turns any item with a future release date into a pre-order item: your customers order before the release, you gather demand and ship in one batch right on the release date – ideal for new releases, limited drops, pre-season collections and chart-relevant launches.

The plugin uses Shopware's native release date. You maintain your product as usual, set a release date in the future and switch on the pre-order toggle – the plugin does the rest. On the release day the item automatically switches back to a normal purchase, with no cron job or manual rework.

What the plugin does

  • Pre-order button instead of “Add to cart” – on the product page and in every product listing while the release date lies in the future.
  • Separate pre-order quota – define per product how many units may be pre-ordered on top of the stock. Once the quota is used up the item can no longer be ordered – no uncontrolled overselling.
  • Realistic delivery date in the cart – the delivery date is calculated from the release date plus your delivery time instead of showing a misleading date from the past.
  • Visible pre-order hint – in the cart and checkout, either as text or as a freely color-configurable badge.
  • Flow Builder trigger for placed pre-orders – automatically send confirmation mails, set tags or change the status as soon as an order contains a pre-order item.
  • Controllable per product and variant – the toggle sits right in the “Deliverability” card and can only be enabled when a future release date is set.

Partial delivery & fulfillment

When customers mix immediately available items with pre-orders for different release dates, the plugin becomes a full partial-delivery and fulfillment tool – no custom build, consistently based on Shopware deliveries.

  • Delivery-mode choice in the cart – your customers decide for themselves: combined delivery (everything in one shipment on the latest release date), partial delivery (available items now, pre-orders bundled) or individual delivery (each pre-order separately on its date). Hidden automatically when there is nothing to choose.
  • Dedicated partial-delivery shipping method – additional deliveries get a freely configurable shipping method with full price, rule and tax logic; optionally charged only once instead of per delivery.
  • Tolerance bundling – release dates close to each other can be merged into a single delivery automatically.
  • Fulfillment board in the order detail – ship each delivery individually, create a delivery note per delivery, split quantities into new deliveries or cancel them. Plus a dedicated delivery module with filters across all orders.
  • Shipping method & tracking per package – every package can get its own shipping method and tracking number (without changing the shipping costs). Tracking numbers appear as clickable links – in the backend and in the customer account.
  • Package overview in the customer account – customers see their packages with delivery number, status, shipping method and tracking.
  • Grouped cart layouts – pre-order carts can be shown grouped by delivery (cards, accordion, timeline) – in the cart, the mini cart and on the finish page.
  • Rule “Pre-order: delivery mode” – make shipping methods, payment methods, promotions and flows depend on whether the customer chose combined, partial or individual delivery.

Why this plugin

  • Shopware-native instead of custom-built – consistently builds on the standard release date, the standard stock logic and the Flow Builder. No interference with the order process beyond the quota.
  • No overselling – the pre-order quota limits the pre-orderable amount precisely. Your real stock stays untouched and ERP-ready.
  • Multilingual – fully available in German and English.
  • Theme-friendly – uses the standard storefront blocks and blends into your theme.

Pre-order is a property of the product – not a complicated process. This plugin is built exactly that simply: set a release date, switch on, define a quota, done.
