Cart Add-ons - paid extra options

Installation

1. Under Extensions → My extensions, install and activate the plugin.
2. The admin then shows Settings → Priority Options. This is where you create all add-ons.

Creating an add-on

1. Under Settings → Priority Options, click Add Priority Option.
2. Card General: set Name, Active, Tax class and Display Mode. Optional: Visibility rule (a rule from the Rule Builder – the add-on only appears when the rule matches), Position (order in the selection) and Description.
3. Card Price: enter the gross or net price. In other currencies the plugin converts the price automatically with the currency factor.
4. Optional card Image (toggle cover) (not for Inline): a small image, about 64×64 px, shown next to the add-on in the selection.
5. Card Availability per context: choose where the add-on is offered.
6. Save – the add-on is available in the cart right away.

Name, description, subtitle and the custom zero-price text are translatable: switch the language at the top of the detail page and maintain the texts per language.

The four display modes (field “Display Mode”)

• Line Item (Default): appears as its own position in the item list.
• Badge: a coloured label in the summary. The price counts towards the total but does not show up as a separate item row. Settings in the card Badge Settings (see below).
• Summary Row (like Shipping): a plain row in the summary, label on the left, price on the right.
• Inline (in toggle): its own card with icon and subtitle right in the selection; the active add-on stays visible there. Colour and icon are set in the card Inline style (color & icon). On the finish page and in the customer account it is shown as a summary row.

For Badge and Inline, the card General also offers Subtitle and Show subtitle in badge – a short second line such as “Ships today”.

Card “Display” (not for Line Item)

• Size (Badge and Summary Row): Compact, Normal or Large.
• Summary position: Above shipping, Below shipping, Right before grand total, Above checkout button, Below checkout button, Above voucher field, Below voucher field, Between line items and subtotal. For the summary row only the first three apply.
• Display in order confirmation & order overview: In the summary (default) or Prominently at the top.

Card “Availability per context”

Six switches: cart, offcanvas cart, checkout login/register, checkout confirm page, checkout finish page, order history in the customer account. They control where the add-on is offered. An add-on the customer already selected stays in the cart even if it is not offered on the next page – so customers do not lose their choice by clicking on. To stop showing an add-on altogether, set it to inactive in the card General.

Card “Badge Settings” (Badge only)

• Background Color and Text Color. The outlined styles have a white background – pick a dark text colour for them.
• Badge Style: Pill Filled, Pill Outlined, Rect Outlined or Feature Card (with icon tile + subtitle).
• Badge Icon with optional Icon Fill Color and Icon Background Color. Both colours only work with single-colour SVG files; leave them empty for PNG, JPG or multi-colour logos.
• Hide toggle when active: the active add-on disappears from the selection and can only be removed with the close button on the badge.
• Badge close-X behavior: Hover-Blur (default), Inline-X right, Slide-Reveal, Top-Right-Overlay, 2-Click-Confirmation or No X. Do not combine “No X” with “Hide toggle when active” – the admin warns you, because customers could no longer remove the add-on.

Card “Price display at 0 €” (not for Line Item)

Only applies when the price is exactly 0 €: Show “Free”, Show “0.00 €”, Show nothing or Custom text (e.g. “Included”, translatable).

Card “Advanced”

• Toggle style (not for Inline): Switch or Checkbox.
• Custom CSS class (not for Line Item): an extra class on the badge for your own theme styling.
• Spacing class (container) (not for Line Item): Bootstrap spacing such as my-1 or mt-2 mb-3 for the gap to the next add-on.

Plugin configuration

Under Extensions → My extensions, click Configure on the plugin. There you can switch on a heading above the add-on selection per sales channel (Show heading above the option toggles) and optionally give it your own text (Heading text). Without your own text it reads “Extra services”. The heading is off by default.

Three examples

Express handling as a badge

1. Name: “Express handling”, Display Mode: Badge, Subtitle: “Ships today when ordered by 2 pm”, Show subtitle in badge: on.
2. Price: 4.90 € gross.
3. Card Display: Summary position = Below shipping.
4. Card Badge Settings: Background Color orange, Text Color white, Badge Style = Pill Filled.

Gift wrapping as a line item

1. Name: “Gift wrapping”, Display Mode: Line Item (Default).
2. Price: 2.90 € gross; upload a small gift icon in Image (toggle cover).
3. In Availability per context, leave only cart and offcanvas cart on – the customer decides once in the cart.

Climate donation as a summary row

1. Name: “Climate donation”, Display Mode: Summary Row (like Shipping).
2. Price: 1.00 € gross.
3. Card Display: Summary position = Right before grand total.
4. Card Advanced: Toggle style = Checkbox.

Tips

• Three add-ons feel like an offer, seven like a form – a few good ones work better.
• Badges for higher amounts, summary rows for small surcharges.
• If an add-on does not appear: check Active, Visibility rule and the switches in Availability per context. Add-ons are only shown when at least one product is in the cart.
• Click through once on a smartphone before going live – the offcanvas cart has less room than the cart page.

Uninstalling

Under Extensions → My extensions, deactivate and uninstall the plugin. When uninstalling you choose whether the add-ons you created are kept or deleted.
