Shipping Cost - Drop Shipping & Warehouse Grouping

Installation

1. Go to Extensions → My Extensions in the Shopware Administration.
2. Find Shipping Cost - Drop Shipping & Warehouse Grouping and click Install, then Activate.
3. The plugin automatically creates:
   • The ongrano_warehouse database table for warehouse management
   • A Standard Warehouse as default fallback
   • Custom fields for warehouse and shipping method assignment on products

Step 1: Create your warehouses

1. Navigate to Settings → Plugins → Warehouses in the Administration.
2. Click Create warehouse.
3. Fill in the warehouse details:
   • Name (required) — e.g., "Electronics Hub Berlin", "Accessories Center Hamburg"
   • Street, Zip code, City (optional) — warehouse address for reference
   • Country (optional) — select from the country list
   • Active — toggle to enable/disable
4. Click Save.

You can also duplicate existing warehouses from the list view context menu and search warehouses using the search bar at the top.

Step 2: Configure the default warehouse

1. Go to Extensions → My Extensions, find the plugin, click the three-dot menu → Configuration.
2. Select a Default Warehouse from the dropdown. This warehouse is used as a fallback for products that have no warehouse assigned.
3. Click Save.

Note: The "Standard Warehouse" is automatically set as default during installation. You can change it at any time.

Step 3: Set up shipping methods

Create or configure your shipping methods in Settings → Shipping. Each shipping method can use a different calculation type:

• By line item count — e.g., 1-5 items: 4.99 EUR, 6-10 items: 6.99 EUR
• By cart price — e.g., under 500 EUR: 9.99 EUR, above 1,500 EUR: free shipping
• By weight — e.g., 0-5 kg: 6.99 EUR, 5-20 kg: 12.99 EUR
• By volume — e.g., 0-0.5 m³: 9.99 EUR, 0.5-2 m³: 19.99 EUR

Make sure to assign the shipping methods to the relevant Sales Channel.

Step 4: Assign warehouses and shipping methods to products

There are two ways to assign warehouses to products:

Option A: From the product detail page

1. Open any product in Catalogues → Products.
2. Go to the Specifications tab.
3. Scroll to the Shipping Warehouse card (located below "Measures & packaging").
4. Select a Warehouse from the dropdown — products from the same warehouse will be grouped together.
5. Optionally, select a Shipping Method — this overrides the default shipping method for this product's group.
6. Click Save.

If no warehouse or shipping method is selected, an info banner tells you that the default configuration will be used.

Option B: From the warehouse detail page

1. Go to Settings → Plugins → Warehouses.
2. Open a warehouse and switch to the Assigned Products tab.
3. Click Add products to open the multi-select modal.
4. Search and select the products you want to assign, then click Add.

This is especially useful for bulk-assigning multiple products to a warehouse at once.

How the shipping cost breakdown works

When a customer adds products to the cart, the plugin:

1. Groups products by their assigned warehouse (or the default warehouse).
2. Within each warehouse group, further groups products by their assigned shipping method (or the default method).
3. Calculates each group's shipping cost using the respective shipping method's price rules.
4. Displays the breakdown as an accordion on the cart, offcanvas, and checkout pages.
5. Sums all group costs as the total shipping cost.

The default shipping method selector is replaced by the breakdown accordion. Customers cannot change the shipping method manually — the correct method is automatically determined per product group.

Example scenario

A customer orders 3 products from an electronics store:

Shipping cost breakdown:

• Electronics Hub Berlin — Insured Electronics Shipping: Free shipping (order value above 1,500 EUR tier)
• Accessories Center Hamburg — Standard Parcel: 4.99 EUR (1 item, tier 1-3)
• Wearables & Audio Munich — Express Delivery: 12.99 EUR (flat rate)

Total shipping cost: 17.98 EUR

Where the breakdown is displayed

• Cart page — Replaces shipping method selector with breakdown accordion
• Offcanvas cart — Compact breakdown in the side panel
• Checkout confirm — Breakdown in summary panel with group details
• Checkout finish — Shipping methods listed in Information section, costs in Summary
• Admin order detail — "Shipping Cost Breakdown" table on the Details tab

Data integrity

The plugin automatically maintains data consistency:

• When a warehouse is deleted, all product references to that warehouse are cleared automatically.
• When a shipping method is deleted, all product references to that method are cleared automatically.
• If the deleted warehouse was the default warehouse, the configuration is reset.

Tips

• Products without a warehouse assignment use the default warehouse from the plugin configuration.
• Products without a shipping method assignment use the sales channel's default shipping method for cost calculation.
• The plugin works alongside Shopware's promotion rules — free shipping promotions are applied correctly.
• For multi-currency shops, the plugin automatically handles currency factor conversion.
• The breakdown data is persisted on the order, so it remains available after the checkout is completed.

Upgrading from v2.x or v3.0

If upgrading from version 2.x:

1. Create warehouse entities for each warehouse name you previously used.
2. Re-assign the new warehouse entities to your products.
3. Update the default warehouse in the plugin configuration.

If upgrading from version 3.0 to 3.1, no migration is needed. The new features (breakdown, admin module, product card) are available immediately after the update.
