About the Extension

Starting August 2, 2026, labeling AI-generated content will be required by law in many areas—including product images and banner images in online stores. With this plugin, you can meet this requirement easily, automatically, and without any programming effort.

The “Label for AI-Generated Images” plugin automatically adds a configurable overlay label to all appropriately tagged images in your Shopware store. The assignment is handled via Shopware media tags: You simply set the desired tag once in the plugin configuration and apply it to the AI-generated images in the Media Manager—that’s it.

The label then automatically appears on all relevant images—on individual CMS images, in image sliders and galleries, as block and section backgrounds, and on cover images in product listings and sliders. Position (4 corners), display style (dark/light/transparent), and text alignment (horizontal/vertical) can be freely configured.

You can customize the displayed text at any time using Shopware snippets. Standard texts are included: “Created with AI” (DE) and “AI generated” (EN).

Please note, this plugin was designed for the standard responsive theme. With other themes and/or when using additional plugins, further adjustments may be necessary.
