About the Extension

With this plugin, order line items from an existing Shopware 6 order can be transferred to a new, separate order with a single click – either by moving or copying them. The plugin was developed specifically for merchants who need to handle partial deliveries, re-orders, or automated order management.

Manual splitting directly from the order detail view

In the order detail view, a new section called "Create New Order" appears below the existing line items table. The user selects via checkbox which positions (and in what quantity) should be transferred to the new order.

Move: The selected positions are completely removed from the original order and transferred to a new one. Ideal for partial deliveries. Order documents of the original order can be updated automatically on request.

Copy: The selected positions are duplicated into a new order. The original order remains unchanged. Ideal for

Select a different customer – the new order can be assigned to a different customer account
Select a different sales channel – the new order can be assigned to a different sales channel
Free order – all prices in the new order are set to €0.00
Set shipping costs to €0 – shipping charges in the new order are waived
Control e-mail sending – the order confirmation e-mail for the new order can be suppressed
Regenerate order documents – documents of the original order are automatically updated after moving items

The order number of the newly created order automatically follows a consistent pattern: -1, -2, etc. Addresses of the original customer (billing and shipping) are automatically carried over when splitting. For a different customer, their default addresses are used.

Automation via Flow Builder

From version 1.6.0, a full Flow Builder integration is available, allowing splits to be triggered fully automatically – e.g. on order completion, status change, or payment receipt.

Flow action: "Split Order"

Action – Move or Copy
Sales channel – Choose a new sales channel for the split order
For items with insufficient stock – Only splits quantities that exceed the available stock level
For items with specific tags – Only splits positions carrying at least one of the defined tags
Separate order per line item – Each line item is transferred to its own order (e.g. 4 items → 3 new orders + 1 remaining in the original)
Set shipping costs to €0 – Shipping costs of the newly created order are set to €0
Exclude already shipped items – Pickware ERP integration: already shipped quantities are taken into account during splitting
Regenerate documents – Order documents of the original order are updated after moving items

Infinite loop protection: A built-in mechanism prevents a flow from immediately re-splitting a newly created split order.

Flow triggers for split orders

After a split, three dedicated flow triggers are available (group: Schnitzraum Split Order):

Order split – Fired for both involved orders (original and new)
Sub-order 1 created – Fired exclusively for the original order
Sub-order 2 created – Fired exclusively for the newly created order

Using the included Rule Builder condition "Schnitzraum Split Order" (group: Schnitzraum), a flow triggered by "Order split" can specifically distinguish between Order 1 (= original) and Order 2 (= new). This allows, for example, removing shipping costs only from the new order or sending different e-mail templates.

Additional flow action: "Set shipping costs to zero"

The plugin provides the separate flow action "Set shipping costs to zero" (group: Order). It works excellently in combination with the "Sub-order 2 created" trigger to automatically remove shipping costs from newly created split orders.

Pickware ERP Integration

From version 1.9.0, the plugin is compatible with Pickware ERP. An additional "Shipped" column is shown in the line items table, displaying quantities already dispatched according to Pickware. The flow action can be configured to automatically deduct shipped quantities during splitting.

Funktioniert wie es soll und ist für uns unverzichtbar. Wir nutzen es täglich um entweder schnell Nachbestellungen durchzuführen oder nicht lieferbare Artikel in eine neue Bestellung zu verschieben. Der Support reagiert schnell und hat sogar eine Wunschfunktion hinzugefügt die wir dringend benötigt hatten.

Installation

Install and activate the plugin via the Shopware Plugin Store.
After activation, a new "Create New Order" section will appear below the line items table in every order detail view.

Plugin settings (Plugin → Configuration)

Suppress e-mail on split – Do not send an order confirmation e-mail for split orders (Default: Off)
Skip payment method validation – Allow splitting even if the payment method is blocked or inactive, e.g. PayPal Pay Later with amount limits (Default: Off)
Skip shipping method validation – Allow splitting even if the shipping method is blocked or inactive (Default: Off)
Default: regenerate documents – Pre-check the "Regenerate documents" checkbox when splitting manually (Default: On)
Advanced mode – Show developer/testing features, e.g. "Mark items as shipped" (Default: Off)

Manual splitting – step by step

Open an order in the admin → tab "General"
Locate the "Create New Order" section below the line items
Select positions via checkbox, adjust quantities if needed
Choose options (customer, sales channel, free order, shipping costs, e-mail, documents)
Click "Move" or "Copy"
The new order is created with an automatic order number (-1, -2, …)

Flow Builder integration – step by step

Scenario 1: Automatically split on stock overflow

Create a flow, trigger e.g.: "Order placed"
Add action: "Split Order" (group: Order)
Configuration: action type "Move", enable option "For items with insufficient stock"
Save – only quantities exceeding available stock are offloaded into the new order

Scenario 2: Automatically split by product tag

Create a flow, trigger e.g.: "Order placed"
Add action: "Split Order" (group: Order)
Configuration: choose action type, enable option "For items with specific tags" and select the desired tags
Save – all positions carrying at least one of the defined tags are split

Note – combining tag filter and stock filter: When both options are active simultaneously they work restrictively (AND logic): only positions that carry a matching tag and exceed the available stock are split.

Scenario 3: Each line item into its own order

Create a flow, choose the desired trigger
Action: "Split Order" (group: Order)
Enable option "Create separate order per line item"
Save – e.g. with 4 positions, 3 new orders are created; the 4th position remains in the original order

Scenario 4: Set shipping costs of the new order to €0

Create a flow, trigger: "Sub-order 2 created" (group: Schnitzraum Split Order > Sub-orders created)
Action: "Set shipping costs to zero" (group: Order)
Save – shipping charges are automatically removed from every newly created split order

Scenario 5: Action only for the original order (Sub-order 1)

Create a flow, trigger: "Sub-order 1 created" (group: Schnitzraum Split Order > Sub-orders created)
Add the desired action (e.g. change status, send e-mail)
Save – the flow runs exclusively for the original order

Scenario 6: Different actions for original and new order (Custom Rule)

Create a flow, trigger: "Order split" (group: Schnitzraum Split Order)
Add a condition (IF) → "Create new rule": type Flow Builder, condition "Schnitzraum Split Order" (group: Schnitzraum), value: Order 1, save
TRUE branch: actions for the original order (e.g. change status, dedicated e-mail)
FALSE branch: actions for the new order (e.g. remove shipping costs, different e-mail template)

Scenario 7: Suppress e-mail for split orders

Option A (global): Enable "Suppress e-mail on split" in the plugin settings (Plugin → Configuration).

Option B (per flow): When using the trigger "Sub-order 2 created", simply do not add an e-mail action. When splitting manually, uncheck the e-mail option in the admin UI.
