Real customer photos on your product pages
Everyone has seen manufacturer product shots. But what does the product actually look like in real life — at home, in use, after a few weeks? That is exactly what this plugin shows.
Your customers can upload their own photos directly on the product detail page. Once you approve them, the images appear as a gallery visible to all visitors. This builds trust and helps purchase decisions — because real photos say more than studio shots ever could.
How it works
- For your customers: Logged-in customers see an upload form on the product page. Select a photo or drag-and-drop it, optionally add a comment, confirm consent — done. The photo goes into your moderation queue.
- For you as a merchant: Your admin has a moderation overview showing all submitted photos. You see a preview, the associated product, status, and sales channel. Approve or delete individually or in bulk — takes seconds. A dashboard widget alerts you when new photos are waiting for review.
- For your visitors: Approved photos appear as a responsive gallery on the product page. Clicking a photo opens a lightbox with keyboard controls, prev/next navigation, and customer descriptions. The gallery can be displayed as its own tab or directly below the product description.
Why customer photos sell
Online shoppers trust user-generated content more than manufacturer images. A photo from a real customer showing the product in their living room or wearing it at the gym answers questions no product description can: How big is it really? Does the color match? Does it still look good after three months?
Shops featuring customer photos report higher conversion rates and lower return rates — because customers can better judge what they are buying.
Full control for you
- Every photo requires your approval before it becomes publicly visible
- You set the maximum number of photos per customer per product
- File size and allowed formats (JPEG, PNG, WebP) are configurable
- Customers must confirm their consent before uploading
- Photos can be managed globally or per sales channel
Clean technical implementation
The plugin uses Shopware's media system for image management, including automatic thumbnail generation. Images are lazy-loaded, the gallery is responsive and mobile-optimized. Variants are automatically grouped under the parent product. The complete admin interface is available in German and English.
