Cache Management & Automated Storefront Warmup

About the Extension
Cache management directly in the Administration
This extension allows you to manage the technical system cache and the Storefront/HTTP cache centrally in the Administration. Cache Management is available under Settings and opens in a clear modal without leaving the page you are currently editing.
Started jobs continue running in the background even when the modal is closed. When you reopen it, you can see the current status, active step, elapsed time, estimated remaining time and, during Storefront warmup, the processed URLs.
Manage the system cache selectively:
- Clear the regular system cache
- Process only changes queued for delayed cache invalidation
- Warm up the technical system cache
- Clear all cache areas and then warm up the system cache again
Warm up the Storefront/HTTP cache:
The sitemaps are refreshed before every Storefront warmup. The extension then anonymously requests the selected pages through the active storefront domains. Depending on the infrastructure in use, this can build the HTTP cache, a reverse proxy or a CDN before the first customer request. Personalised or logged-in cache variants are not created.
Three scopes are available for Storefront warmup:
- New and changed pages only: Requests start, category, landing and content pages. Product and variant pages are included only if they were added or changed since the last successful warmup. The quick selection is used automatically for the first run.
- Quick warmup: Adds up to 1,000 most recently changed product and variant URLs to the general storefront pages.
- Full warmup: Requests every storefront URL contained in the sitemaps. This mode is available manually only and can take several hours on large shops.
A running Storefront warmup can be cancelled cleanly. Pages that have already been requested successfully remain in the HTTP cache.
Automated warmup at fixed times:
Storefront warmup can optionally be run at two specified times per day. The “New and changed pages only” and “Quick warmup” modes are available for automated runs. Times are evaluated using a selectable IANA timezone, allowing daylight saving time changes to be taken into account.
A central process lock prevents concurrent cache jobs. If a manual or automated action is already running at the scheduled time, the additional run is skipped.
Transparent progress and technical diagnostics:
The status display shows the current step, elapsed time, estimated remaining time and URL progress. The detected PHP CLI version and the binary path in use are displayed directly. Detailed technical information is available for troubleshooting.
Important server requirements:
- Shopware 6.7
- PHP 8.2 or newer, including the PHP DOM extension
- An accessible PHP CLI version 8.2 or newer
- Linux or Unix server
- The PHP proc_open function must be available
- /bin/sh and nohup must be available
- Write access to the Shopware var directory
- Storefront domains and sitemaps must be reachable from the server
- Scheduled Task Runner and Message Queue or Administration Worker for automated warmup
Common PHP CLI names and widely used paths on Linux hosting environments, Plesk, cPanel and CloudLinux are detected automatically. If required, the PHP CLI path can be specified using the SIX_CACHE_MANAGER_PHP_BINARY environment variable.
!!=> The extension is not suitable for Windows servers or hosting environments where background processes, proc_open, /bin/sh or nohup are unavailable.
