Rental Requests, Wishlists & Orders

Description

Highlights

  • Wishlist, rental request and order in a single customer UI
  • Availability check with fleet logic + buffer times
  • Tiered pricing with working-day and holiday awareness
  • Automatic order creation after confirmation
  • Ten editable email templates for all status transitions

Features

  • Three use cases in one UI — wishlist, rental request, and order share the same container; the customer always sees one list.
  • Per-product toggle — a custom field decides per item: buyable, rentable, or both. No duplicate catalogue needed.
  • Mixed lists — rental and purchase items can live in the same request. The system distinguishes automatically for pricing, availability, and order generation.
  • Availability check with fleet logic — product.stock counts as inventory. Conflicts with other confirmed requests are blocked before submission.
  • Buffer periods — pre- and post-rental buffer days for reservations, configurable globally or per product.
  • Tiered pricing with working-day logic — per-day calculation counts only Mon–Fri, with multi-day discounts (configurable via JSON).
  • Holiday awareness — configurable holidays are excluded from the calculation window, with optional API import (DE/AT/CH).
  • Automatic order generation — on confirmation, a Shopware order is optionally created instantly with correct rental and purchase line items.
  • Ten editable email templates — for every status transition (submitted / in review / confirmed / rejected / withdrawn) covering both customer and admin, fully Twig-capable.
  • Request ID system — sequential number with configurable prefix (e.g. AM-000001) for clean reference tracking.
  • Status audit log — every status change is logged with timestamp and editor, visible as history in the admin.
  • Per-request addresses — customer picks billing and shipping address from their saved addresses, different from the default if needed.
  • Comment fields — customer leaves a wish-comment on the request; admin maintains an internal comment in return.
  • PDF gallery export — printable image overview of all requested items including SKU and dimensions — perfect for on-site handover.
  • Damage documentation — HTML description + 5 image attachments per product for internal damage notes, admin-only view.

About the Extension

Wishlists, Rental Requests & Orders — flexibly combined

This plugin combines three commonly requested features into one easy-to-use interface: customers collect items on a wishlist, optionally specify a rental period, submit the list as a request — and after the shop owner confirms, it becomes a real Shopware order. You decide per product whether it's buyable, rentable, or both.

Who is this for?

  • Rental businesses — equipment, event technology, tools, vehicles, furniture
  • Film productions & event agencies — sets, shoot days, stages
  • B2B shops with quote phase — complex requests instead of direct orders
  • Shops with rental AND sales catalogue — both paths in parallel in one list

Key features

Per-product configuration

Each product decides for itself: purchase item or rental item. No need to maintain two catalogues — a single custom field switch is enough.

One UI for all states

Wishlist becomes request, request becomes order — the customer keeps the same list in their account throughout. No branching submenus, no separate carts.

Availability check for rental items

Fleet-based multi-rental (product.stock = available units), configurable buffer times before and after the rental period, automatic overlap conflict detection against confirmed requests.

Tiered pricing for rental periods

Per-day pricing with multi-day discounts and working-day logic (Mon–Fri including configurable holidays). Optional automatic holiday import via API.

Purchase items without complications

Non-rental items can be on the list too — they're calculated as standard price × quantity, without date/availability logic.

Automatic order generation

As soon as the admin confirms a request, a Shopware order with the correct rental and purchase positions is optionally created immediately.

End-to-end mail workflow

Ten predefined email templates for every status change — submitted, in review, confirmed, rejected, withdrawn — for both customer and admin. Fully editable via the standard Shopware mail template system with full Twig power.

Damage documentation

HTML description + 5 image attachments per product for internal damage notes (admin-only, perfect for depreciation documentation).

Cleanly installable, cleanly uninstallable

On uninstall with data deletion, tables, custom fields, mail templates and system config entries are completely removed. No remnants, no FK conflicts on reinstall.

Technical details

  • Compatible with Shopware 6.7.x
  • 7 own DB tables with prefix sven_miet_* (FK constraints globally unique)
  • Own custom field set registration with idempotent setup
  • Storefront integration via Twig templates without JS bundle dependencies
  • Admin module as Vue/Twig component under "Rental"
  • Own scheduled tasks for automatic maintenance (holiday import, booking cleanup)
  • CLI commands for maintenance and bulk operations

What it doesn't do

  • No external cloud/API dependency (except optional feiertage-api.de for import)
  • No own payment module — uses Shopware standard processes
  • No shipment tracking — ends at order creation
