Popup Banner and Notice Bar | Exit Intent Popups with Countdown and Newsletter

About the Extension
Sound familiar? Your spring sale started on Monday, but the only hint sits on the home page. The notice about the Royal Mail strike is still up three weeks later. And the newsletter popup jumps at every visitor on every single click.
The problem
A popup that greets everyone on every page view does not sell. It drives people away. Targeting your messages properly often takes several plugins: one for the bar at the top, one for the newsletter popup, one for the countdown. Each with its own settings and its own script. And nobody can tell you whether anyone actually clicks the button.
The solution
This plugin brings every format into one place: popup (modal), message (toast), notice bar, banner and slide-in. You create as many notifications as you like and decide for each one what it shows, how it looks, when it appears, how often and for whom. Notifications are delivered with the page itself, with no extra request and no external services.
What's in it for you
- One tool instead of a plugin collection. Five types, one way of working, one set of statistics, all under Marketing > Popups & notifications.
- The right message in the right place. The coupon only shows up in your sale category and on the products in it. The shipping note only appears in the shopping cart. The trade customer notice only reaches the matching customer group through a rule from the Rule Builder.
- Campaigns run on schedule. Set start and end, weekdays and a daily time window in advance. Your weekend offer goes live on Friday at 6 pm and disappears at midnight on Sunday without you lifting a finger.
- Visitors don't get annoyed. You decide whether a notification appears once per visit, only once, at most three times in 30 days or until the visitor closes it. Triggers such as scroll depth, inactivity or exit intent bring it up when it fits.
- You see what works. For every notification the plugin counts impressions, button clicks, closes and conversions, meaning newsletter sign-ups and copied coupon codes, and works out the click rate. Anonymous, without cookies and without IP addresses.
- Your shop stays fast. No extra request on page load, no flicker, and the HTTP cache stays switched on. The browser only loads images once a notification is actually shown.
How the plugin works
Every notification has five tabs: General, Content, Design, Display rules and Statistics.
Under Content you combine a headline, formatted text, an image, a countdown, a coupon code with a copy button, the newsletter sign-up and up to two buttons. The main button opens a link, closes the notification or both. You set the order of the elements once for all languages and translate the texts per language. The image sits above, below, beside or behind the content.
Under Design you pick colours for background, text, headline, button, border and overlay, plus width, inner spacing, corner radius, border width, font size, text alignment and animation. Empty fields use the values of your theme, so the notification looks like your shop from the start.
The display rules answer four questions. When: immediately, after a delay, after scrolling, after inactivity, on exit intent, after a number of page views or only via a link. How often: on every page view, once per visit, only once, at most n times within x days, until closed or until the button is clicked. Where: sales channels, page types from the home page to the checkout, categories including sub-categories and their products, and URLs that do or do not contain a given text. Who: all visitors, only guests or only logged-in customers, on smartphone, tablet or desktop, optionally narrowed down by a rule.
Before going live, open any notification through the preview on a storefront domain of your choice. The link is valid for 30 minutes, inactive notifications included. Duplicate in the list creates a deactivated copy for similar notifications.
Typical use cases
- Delivery notice: A notice bar at the top tells visitors about Royal Mail delays or your closure over the bank holiday. It only appears during the period you set and pushes the content down instead of covering it.
- Newsletter on exit: A popup with the newsletter sign-up appears when a guest is about to leave. At most twice in 30 days, never for logged-in customers.
- Weekend offer: A banner with a countdown and a coupon code for 10% off runs from Friday to Sunday on every category page. Visitors copy the code with one click and redeem it at checkout. The code itself is a regular Shopware promotion; the plugin only displays it.
- Help at the edge: A slide-in with a tab at the edge of the screen explains click and collect. Anyone with a question clicks the tab, everyone else keeps shopping.
Technical facts for your IT team
- Shopware 6.7, PHP 8.2 or higher.
- Own tables for notifications, translations, sales channel and category assignments and statistics, plus a media folder. The original Shopware tables remain unchanged.
- The plugin sends no data to external servers and loads no third-party scripts.
- Statistics are plain counters per notification without IP address, cookie or visitor ID, switchable per sales channel.
- The visitor's browser remembers which notifications were already shown or closed (localStorage and sessionStorage). From Shopware 6.7.3 on, the entry is listed in the cookie consent under technically required.
- Rendered server-side with the page. The HTTP cache stays active, every change clears the affected cache immediately, and a scheduled task checks every 5 minutes whether a notification starts or ends.
- Per page view the plugin considers up to 100 active notifications at the same time, highest priority first.
- Accessible by design: the popup uses the browser's native dialog element, focus moves in and back out, Escape closes it, and visitors with reduced motion see no animation. Image alt texts come from the media management.
- The newsletter sign-up uses the one built into Shopware, including double opt-in, captcha and privacy notice.
- Store API for headless shops, permissions to view, edit, create and delete per role, administration in English, German and Dutch.
- Switchable and configurable per sales channel. Uninstalling without keeping the data removes all notifications and statistics; uploaded images stay in the media management.
To be honest
Weekday, time of day, device, trigger and frequency are checked in the visitor's browser, so without JavaScript no notification appears. On desktop, exit intent reacts to the mouse leaving the window at the top. Phones and tablets have no mouse, so a quick scroll back up serves as the signal, and that will not catch every exit. The statistics count events, not people. There is no import from other popup plugins. Start with a single notice bar and check the statistics after a week.
