About the Extension

It is Thursday night before Black Friday. The sale goes live at midnight, and someone still has to swap the banner in the shopping experience, add a countdown and take down last week's notice. With the CMS PowerPack you set all of that up on Tuesday. Then you log off on time.

The problem

Shopware's shopping experiences are a good tool, but the set of building blocks is thin. Tabs, accordions, countdowns, maps and before and after sliders are missing. If you need them, you buy five separate plugins with five different ways of working, or you pay for custom templates. Timed content stays manual work: switch the block on, switch it off, clear the cache, hope.

The solution

The CMS PowerPack adds 14 elements and 13 column layouts to the Shopping Experiences designer, sorted into two block categories of their own. Every block and every section gets a colour gradient, an appear animation, a display period and Rule Builder rules. That includes Shopware's standard blocks. You can also place any shopping experience layout in the header, the footer and the checkout, set per sales channel.

What's in it for you

  • One toolkit instead of five plugins. Notice, call to action, testimonial, tabs, accordion, HTML/CSS, map, countdown, counter, parallax image, action card, image comparison, info bar and divider all work the same way. Drag the block into the layout, fill in the content, done.
  • Campaigns planned ahead. You decide when a block or a whole section appears and when it goes. At both moments the plugin clears the cache of the affected page itself, so nobody has to sit in the admin at midnight.
  • The right content for the right customers. With Rule Builder rules you show a block only to trade customers, only above a certain basket value or only in one country. You maintain one page instead of three versions.
  • Trust signals where people buy. A layout on the cart page or the order confirmation page shows delivery details, payment methods or your returns policy right at the moment of decision. You write no template code for it.
  • Maps that respect privacy. A map only loads after the visitor clicks, and the consent sits in Shopware's cookie manager where visitors can withdraw it. OpenStreetMap works without an API key.
  • Usable by everyone. Tabs, image comparison and action cards work with the keyboard, and the accordion needs no JavaScript at all. Visitors who turned on reduced motion in their operating system see content without animation.

How the plugin works

The Shopping Experiences designer gets two new block categories. "PowerPack elements" holds the 14 elements, each with its own block. "PowerPack layouts" holds grids for 2, 3, 4 and 6 columns in eleven splits, plus image and text cards with 2 and 4 columns. On tablets two columns sit side by side, on phones they stack.

In the settings of a block or a section you open the panel "PowerPack: gradient, animation & visibility". There you set start and end colour, angle, animation, display period and rules. These settings apply to all languages.

In the plugin configuration you assign a shopping experience layout to the header, the footer, the cart page, the order confirmation page and the order completion page for each sales channel, above or below the standard content. Delete an assigned layout and that spot simply stays empty.

Element texts can contain placeholders such as the category name, and images can come from the product or category through data mapping. Recurring sentences live in one snippet, and a placeholder pulls them into product names, product descriptions and category descriptions. You switch this replacement on per field.

Typical use cases

  • Black Friday weekend: a countdown visible from Friday 00:00 to Monday 23:59, with a call to action and a voucher code underneath. When time runs out, the countdown hides itself or shows a closing message.
  • A cart that builds trust: an info bar below the cart reading "Tracked delivery with Royal Mail", "Next-day option with DPD" and "Free returns within 30 days", without touching the theme.
  • B2B and B2C in one shop: a note on tiered prices appears only for your trade customer group. In the B2C sales channel you can switch the plugin off entirely.
  • Click and collect: an OpenStreetMap map on your contact page next to an accordion with opening hours and common questions, optionally with FAQ structured data for search engines.

Technical facts for your IT team

  • Shopware 6.7 from version 6.7.3, PHP 8.2 or higher. Tested on Shopware 6.7.15.1.
  • No custom tables, no migration. Block and section settings live in the custom fields of blocks and sections, and Shopware's original tables stay unchanged.
  • The plugin itself sends no data to external servers. Only after consent does the visitor's browser load map data directly from OpenStreetMap or Google. A cookie remembers the consent for 30 days and is listed under "Comfort features" in the cookie manager.
  • JavaScript for countdown, counter, map, image comparison, info bar and animation only loads when the element is on the page.
  • Elements follow the cache behaviour of the Shopware CMS. A scheduled task checks display periods every 5 minutes and clears the cache of the affected layouts only. If you run the optional cache flags PERFORMANCE_TWEAKS or CACHE_REWORK, check rule-based blocks in your test shop first.
  • A Store API route delivers the header, footer and checkout layouts, and all element data is part of the Store API. Component names for Composable Frontends are documented.
  • Every function can be switched per sales channel. Administration and storefront come in English, German and Dutch.
  • To pick rules in the designer, the user role needs read access to the Rule Builder.
  • Uninstall with the option "Remove all app data permanently" and the plugin deletes its settings from blocks and sections. Your layouts stay in place.

To be honest

The CMS PowerPack is not a separate page builder with its own drag and drop editor. It extends the Shopping Experiences designer you already know. Placeholders in product and category texts only replace snippets, and the plugin deliberately runs no other Twig code. Display periods switch with a delay of up to 5 minutes and need your scheduled tasks to run. Try it in your test shop with your own theme before you build your next big campaign on it.
