About the Extension

A shopper is ready to buy. The item is sold out. They click away and never come back. That was a sale you had all but closed, and you lose it again every single day.

The problem

Out of stock is expensive. A ready buyer has no way to raise their hand when you restock, so they buy elsewhere or simply forget you. A few days later you top up the stock and nobody hears about it. Emailing every interested shopper by hand stops working the moment you have more than a handful of requests.

The solution

The plugin adds a small field exactly where the shopper would otherwise leave: "Notify me as soon as the product is available." The visitor drops in their email, confirms it once with a link, and the rest runs itself. As soon as the item's stock climbs back above zero, the email goes out. No sticky notes, no spreadsheet, no chasing by hand.

What's in it for you

You capture demand instead of giving it away.

Everyone who signs up is a customer who wanted to buy right now. When you restock, you win them back before they have long since ordered somewhere else.

Sending runs without you.

You refill stock in the shop or through an import, and the plugin sends the emails. Nothing to click, no list to maintain.

You can see what people want.

The admin shows you, per product, who is waiting for it. A full waiting list is a clear signal about what you should reorder first.

You stay on the safe side of GDPR.

Every sign-up needs a double opt-in through a confirmation link. That link is signed and cannot be forged. When a customer deletes their account, their sign-ups disappear with it automatically.

You control each shop on its own.

The feature switches on and off per sales channel. If you run several shops from one Shopware installation, you decide for each one whether the field appears.

How the plugin works

When an item is flagged as clearance and its orderable stock is used up, the plugin replaces the "add to cart" area with an email field that carries a captcha and a privacy notice. The shopper enters their address and receives a confirmation email. The sign-up only counts once they click the link. When stock returns, the plugin sends the availability email, fully automatically on restock if you want, or on a schedule through a console command, or by hand from the admin. Logged-in customers also see their waiting lists in their account and can remove themselves there.

Typical use cases

Seasonal bestsellers and steady sellers.

The top seller is empty and the next delivery lands in ten days. Instead of losing shoppers for ten days, you collect them and alert them on delivery day.

 Limited runs and clearance lines.

A wanted item is gone. Everyone who signs up tells you in plain numbers whether a reorder or a rerun is worth it.

Supplier delays.

You are not sure yourself when the delivery lands. Once the stock shows up in the system, the notification runs on its own, without you having to keep the date in your head.

Technical facts for your IT team

The plugin runs from Shopware 6.7 and PHP 8.2. It creates two of its own tables for sign-ups and pending confirmations, and it leaves the original Shopware tables untouched. Two email templates (confirmation and availability) ship in German, English and Dutch. Sending goes exclusively through the mailer you have already set up in Shopware, and no data is sent to external servers. Automatic sending uses the Shopware message queue, so it never blocks your stock imports. Confirmation links are signed with an HMAC over the application secret, the opt-in form is protected by the Shopware captcha, and redirects stay on the shop domain. There is a dedicated log channel. On uninstall the plugin removes its tables, templates and settings again, unless you deliberately choose to keep the customer data.

To be honest

The field only appears on items that are flagged as clearance and sold out. If you allow overselling, there is nothing to notify about and the field stays hidden. Automatic sending needs a running message queue worker or the bundled cron command in your shop. And the plugin is not a newsletter tool: it sends plain availability emails, no campaigns, no segments, no reporting dashboards.

Try it yourself: install the plugin on a test system, switch it on for one channel, and sign up on the first sold-out item. Five minutes later you will know exactly how the whole flow feels.
