About the Extension
A trade customer in Manchester has ordered from you for years and always speaks to Sarah in sales. Today he needs her direct line, cannot find it anywhere in your shop and calls the switchboard. Sarah is on another call, the message gets passed on, and a two minute question turns into a day of phone tag.
The problem
In B2B and with products that need advice, people buy from people, not from contact forms. Out of the box, a Shopware shop still offers just one general contact page. Who looks after which customer or product range lives in your team's heads or in a spreadsheet. Your customer searches, writes to the wrong inbox or ends up in a queue.
The solution
You maintain your contact persons once, centrally in the Administration, and assign them to products, categories, customers or customer groups. The shop then shows the right person on the right page: with photo, job title, availability, spoken languages and exactly the contact ways you choose to publish. One click on "Save contact" puts them straight into your customer's address book.
What's in it for you
Enquiries reach the right person first time. On a product page your customer sees the specialist for that range, and in their account they see their own account manager. The detour through the switchboard disappears.
Customers contact you the way they prefer. Twelve contact ways are built in: phone, mobile, fax, email, WhatsApp, Microsoft Teams, Signal, Telegram, LinkedIn, Xing, website and an appointment link. You enter the number, address or user name, and the plugin builds the link.
You maintain each person once. When a direct line changes, you change it in one place. Product pages, Shopping Experiences and customer accounts show the new details straight away, including cached pages.
Every sales channel gets its own people. You decide per contact person which sales channels they appear in. Per channel you also decide which details are visible, from the photo and address down to the fax number. Your trade shop shows direct lines, your consumer shop only the appointment link.
Your details stay with the customer. With "Save contact" your customer downloads a vCard and has the person on their phone or in Outlook. The file only holds what you made visible in that sales channel.
Your frontend does not matter. All data is available through the Store API, with the same visibility rules as the storefront. A Composable Frontend shows exactly what your classic shop shows.
How the plugin works
Under Customers > Contact person you create people and groups, such as Sales, Customer Service or Technical Support. Each person has salutation, title, first and last name, photo, job title, availability, address, spoken languages and a list of contact ways. Every contact way can carry its own caption, a sort position and an active switch. You upload the photo or pick it from your media. Job title, availability and group names are translated into every shop language with the language switch. If you try to leave a page with unsaved changes, the Administration asks first, so nothing gets lost.
You set the assignment in the "Contact person" custom field on a product, category, customer or customer group. On product and category pages, the Shopping Experiences block "Contact person" shows the assigned people. The "Contact persons" element fits into any block: either with the people assigned to the page or as a fixed selection with its own headline, for example on a service page. In the customer account, a "Contact person" menu entry lists the people assigned to the customer and to their customer group.
Typical use cases
- Wholesale with field sales: every trade customer sees their area sales rep in their account, with mobile number and a booking link.
- Specialist retail: the heating and plumbing categories each show the right product specialist, with direct line and a Microsoft Teams link.
- Manufacturer with two shops: the B2B channel shows sales and inside sales, the consumer channel shows customer service on WhatsApp.
- Export business: a buyer from France sees at a glance who on your team speaks French.
Technical facts for your IT team
- Shopware 6.7 from version 6.7.0, PHP 8.2 or higher.
- Own tables for contact persons, groups, contact ways, translations and the links to sales channels and languages. Assignment to products, categories, customers and customer groups uses the plugin's own custom field set. Shopware's original tables stay untouched.
- The plugin sends no data to external servers. Messenger and profile links only open the service when your customer clicks them.
- The Store API only returns contact persons through a page assignment or for the logged-in customer, never as an open list. The vCard link carries a check value, so a guessed ID alone does not download anything.
- The contact persons of a page are loaded with a single database query. Changes to people, groups and contact ways refresh the affected pages in the HTTP cache. A loading error does not break the page, it is written to the log.
- Access rights View, Edit, Create and Delete for your user roles.
- Uninstalling without keeping data removes the plugin's tables, configuration, custom field set and media folder. The images themselves stay in your media.
- GDPR: the plugin publishes names and contact details of your employees in the shop. You need their consent for that.
To be honest
The plugin does not assign contact persons automatically by rule, for example by postcode or turnover. You set the assignment yourself on the product, category, customer or customer group. It is not a chat and not a contact form either: the contact ways link to phone, email and the respective services. On product and category pages, people only appear once you place the block or element in the layout. Try it with two or three people first, your first block is up quickly.
