About the Extension

In the product “Configure properties” modal, Shopware searches the property values. In shops with many properties and long value lists, finding the right value is often tedious: dimension values such as “6 x 8 x 2 cm” are not found, and typing a group name lists every value of that group. With Advanced Property Search, you find the right property value accurately and without configuration.

Accurate substring search

Your search term is split into individual words. Every word must appear as a substring in the property value name. This lets you reliably find values such as “6 x 8 x 2 cm” – short and numeric parts are not lost.

Relevance ranking

Values that start with the full search term appear at the top, followed by values that contain the term as a phrase and then the remaining matches. For equal relevance, a natural name sort keeps the order predictable.

Focus on the value name

The search runs solely on the value name. The previous behaviour of listing every option of a group as soon as its group name was typed is removed. The result list stays clear.

Set-up

After installation the extension works without configuration. It applies in the “Configure properties” modal and does not change your data. On uninstall, Shopware’s standard search behaviour applies again; as the extension writes no data, nothing is left behind.

Do I need to configure the plugin?

No. It works directly in the "Configure properties" modal right after activation, with no settings.

Does the plugin change my data?

No. It only adjusts the search in the administration modal. Properties, groups and values remain unchanged.

Does the plugin affect the storefront?

No. The change applies to the administration only.

Does the search find numbers and short terms?

Yes. Short and numeric parts of the search term are taken into account and not discarded.

Why were so many results shown before?

The standard search also considers the group name in addition to the value name. As a result, typing a group name could list every value of that group. The plugin removes this part of the search.
