Description:
This plugin is aimed at merchants who don't use Google Tag Manager, integrate Google Analytics via Shopware's built-in feature, and want to add Google Ads conversion tracking to measure the return on their Google Ads spend.
Setup is done through the plugin settings and can be completed quickly, even without technical expertise.
The plugin works with Shopware's built-in cookie consent as well as with external cookie consent tools such as Usercentrics, Consentmanager or Cookiebot. It also supports Google Consent Mode v2. Advanced mode requires one of the external cookie consent tools.
The Google Ads plugin also supports event snippets for Dynamic Remarketing. It passes the parameters ecomm_prodid, ecomm_pagetype and ecomm_totalvalue on product detail pages and product lists, in the shopping cart, the order overview, the order confirmation, and in quick view windows. This allows you to build audience lists. For example, you can use these lists to target customers in the Display Network with the exact products they showed interest in, or to adjust bids for customers who visited your shop but have not yet purchased. Simply enable dynamic remarketing in the plugin settings to activate this feature.
As of version 4.2.0, the plugin also supports Google Ads' new customer acquisition. This automatically passes along, for every order, whether the order was placed by a new customer. This allows Google Ads campaigns to be tailored specifically toward acquiring new customers. A customer is considered a new customer if two conditions are met: they are not a guest customer, and they have not yet placed an order with the status 'completed'.
From version 4.3.0, the plugin also passes the purchased products — including product ID, quantity and price — with every conversion. This enables more detailed reporting in Google Ads, such as how bidding dimensions like location or device affect cart size and average order value, which campaigns and ad groups drive the most product sales and profit, and whether customers bought the advertised products or other items from your store.
