EU Label | EU Guarantee Notice & GARAN Warranty Label

Up and running in under 10 minutes — and ready well before 27 September 2026.

Requirements

Shopware 6.7.x. Compatible with ThemeWare®, the Shopware default theme and many other Shopware 6 themes.

Installation

1. Install the plugin
In the Shopware admin under "Extensions → My account", download, install and activate the EU Harmonised Notice & Label (GARAN) plugin.

2. Clear caches
Refresh the theme and clear the cache — Shopware loads the EU notice SVGs and the templates from the asset bundle.

Important: Also clear the cache after every later change to the plugin configuration or to product/manufacturer data. Storefront pages are cached, otherwise changes only become visible with a delay.

Which label is shown when?

So it is immediately clear what to expect during setup and testing:

EU harmonised notice
Shown on every physical product once you enable it for the product detail page under "Placement" — it is off there by default, so nothing appears in your storefront unasked after installation. In the checkout it sits in full right above the confirmation checkbox by default, in addition to Shopware's link in the terms text; under "Style in the checkout" you can choose the preview or the link only instead. There is no listing placement for this label.

EU GARAN label
Appears only when a guarantee duration of more than 2 years is set and confirmed and both brand and model identifier can be resolved. Background: the harmonised label under Implementing Regulation (EU) 2025/1960 applies exclusively to a commercial guarantee of durability that goes beyond the two-year legal guarantee. If one of these is missing, no label is created by design — and if a guarantee duration is set, we write a log entry so you can see the reason.

GARAN label in the listing
Display on listing and category pages is disabled by default. Add it in the plugin configuration under "Placement → Show EU harmonised label (GARAN label) on" via the "Listing / category page" entry.

Download-only products
Automatically get no EU GARAN label and no harmonised notice on the product page — they are not goods within the meaning of the regulation.

Configuration per sales channel

"Extensions → My extensions → EU Harmonised Notice & Label (GARAN) → Configuration". Every switch can be overridden per sales channel; the only exception is the source of the model identifier, which applies shop-wide.

General
Activation per sales channel. Mark B2B-only channels as "B2B only" — the extension hides its labels in the storefront there. Shopware's own guarantee notice in the checkout is switched off for that sales channel under Settings › Shop › Cart.

Placement
Where the EU GARAN label appears (product detail page, listing, cart and checkout) and where the EU harmonised notice appears (product detail page — off by default).

EU GARAN label options
Style on the product page ("Expand" as in the Shopware standard, "Modal" or "Full"), maximum width of the label, source of the model identifier (product number / EAN / manufacturer number only), heading on the product page, display of the commercial guarantee statement.

EU harmonised notice options
Style on the product page ("Full", "Preview" or "Compact"), style in the checkout ("Full", "Preview" or "Shopware standard"), maximum width of the label, text link to open it, download of the official EU PDF, open in a new tab, heading on the product page, second-hand goods note.

Footer guarantee information
Optional shop-wide link in the footer, linked to a shop page layout. Modal or page mode selectable. Without a selected layout no link appears.

Rule Builder
Both labels can be hidden through rules, for example for specific customer groups. Rules apply after login.

Maintain per product and manufacturer

On the product
Maintain the guarantee duration in Shopware's own "Guarantee duration" field (in months) together with the confirmation next to it. Without the confirmation Shopware shows no label.

Careful with variants: the confirmation is not inherited from the parent product — it has to be set on each variant individually.

In the "Advanced data" tab you will find our additional fields: show or hide the EU harmonised notice (for services, for example), a model identifier of its own (applies when the manufacturer number is missing) and optionally your own GARAN graphic for this product.

On the manufacturer (tab "Advanced data")
"Default guarantee duration (years)" plus the "Release default guarantee duration" switch — the value only takes effect once released, and then for every product of that manufacturer, including ones added later. Alongside that: "Brand for GARAN label" (only when it differs from the manufacturer name) and the commercial guarantee statement as a PDF from the media manager or as an external URL.

Resolution order for the guarantee duration
Shopware's product field always wins. If it is empty, the released default duration of the manufacturer applies. Coming from an earlier version: the previous "Guarantee duration (years) [Legacy]" field keeps working as long as Shopware's field is empty — nothing is migrated.

Go-live checklist

1. Switch the harmonised notice on
Add the product detail page under "Placement" and pick the style below it. Without this step nothing appears on the product page.

2. Set the guarantee duration (prerequisite for the GARAN label)
Either on the product in Shopware's "Guarantee duration" field with the confirmation, or on the manufacturer via the default guarantee duration with the release switch set. For variants, check the confirmation on each variant.

3. Brand and model identifier
The manufacturer name must be maintained, otherwise no label is created; if the brand differs, set "Brand for GARAN label". For the model identifier either maintain the manufacturer number or use the fallback from the configuration (product number by default).

4. Commercial guarantee statement per manufacturer
Add a PDF or URL — otherwise no guarantee statement is offered next to the GARAN label.

5. Enable listing display (optional)
If the GARAN label should also appear on category and search pages, add the "Listing / category page" entry under "Placement → Show EU harmonised label (GARAN label) on".

6. Shop page layout for the footer link
Create it and select it in the plugin configuration under "Footer guarantee information".

7. Visual QA and quick test
Give a sample product more than 2 years of guarantee, the confirmation and a maintained brand, clear the cache and check: the product detail page, a category page, the cart and the order confirmation. Additionally review the harmonised notice per sales channel language.
