About the Extension
Your footer belongs to you, not to Shopware.Right at the bottom of your store sits Shopware's copyright: a small Shopware logo and a line of text. This plugin takes out both or replaces them with yours.
→ One dropdown is enough: hide it, replace it, add to it, or leave it alone
→ Year and store name automatically: never a wrong year in your footer again
→ One text per language: very few solve this through the configuration
→ Favicon and share image too: the Shopware branding almost nobody knows about
For Shopware 6.5, 6.6 and 6.7. No external service, no JavaScript, no template changes.
→ Install it now. Setting it up takes two minutes.
What exactly disappears
Shopware renders a fixed block at the very bottom of the footer: a Shopware logo as an icon and next to it the copyright line. Both belong to the default theme and cannot be switched off in the administration. Without touching a template they stay. This plugin replaces exactly that block. And because the branding does not only sit there, two places in the page head come with it that people rarely think about: the favicon in the browser tab and the share image that appears when someone shares a page of your store.
Four ways with one line
It used to be a switch, now it is a choice. You decide what happens to the copyright line:- Hide it: Shopware logo and line are gone. Your footer ends with your own content, no empty placeholder.
- Replace it: your text instead of Shopware's, with HTML, links and your own colours.
- Add to it: the Shopware line stays, your text goes underneath. For agencies who want to be named without taking anything away from the client.
- Leave it alone: the plugin does not interfere. Useful if you only want it for favicon and share image.
Add to it is the one you will rarely find. It solves a case that used to require a template change: showing your own branding without removing someone else's.
Never a wrong year again
Every store with a year in its footer has it wrong from 1 January. Usually it is noticed in March, when a customer asks. That is why the text field understands placeholders:
- %year%: the current year, correct every year, without you doing anything
- %shopname%: the name from your basic settings
- %saleschannel%: the name of the sales channel the page is running in
The default after installation is simply © %year% %shopname%. So from the first second there is something correct in your footer, in any language, without a single entry.
One line, every language
This is where everyone else stops. The configuration of a Shopware extension knows sales channels, but not languages. A store with one channel and two languages gets the same line in both, the same German sentence in the German and in the English storefront. This plugin offers a second route: instead of taking the line from the text field, it can take it from a snippet. Snippets are maintained per language in Shopware anyway. So your German sentence appears in the German storefront and your English one in the English storefront, from one and the same setting.
The placeholders work there as well. And the plugin ships its snippets in nine languages: German, German (AT), German (CH), English, Dutch, French, Spanish, Danish and Polish. Its configuration is labelled in those nine languages too.
The Shopware branding almost nobody knows about
Two places carry Shopware images out of the box, and neither is noticed day to day:- The favicon in the browser tab is the blue Shopware S. Anyone who bookmarked your store sees it every day.
- The share image is the logo of the Shopware demo store, as long as no store logo of your own is set. It appears wherever a link to your store is shared.
You can replace both here. And because a plugin should never overwrite something you set yourself, there is a protection switch: out of the box the images only take effect while Shopware's own defaults are still in place. If you set your own favicon long ago, it stays untouched, even if you accidentally upload one here.
Your own line, your own logo
The line is a free text field and may contain HTML: clickable links in the middle of the text, bold, italic, your copyright sign. Plus two colour fields, one for the text and one for the links. The link colour also applies on hover, where the link turns slightly transparent instead of changing colour.Above the line you can place a logo. Either the store logo from your theme settings or an image of your own from your media library, with its own link target and a freely chosen width in pixels. A separate footer logo is no longer chained to the header logo.
The checkout, now with a switch
Shopware builds the checkout footer from the same block as the normal footer, it just shows less around it. Your setting therefore applies there automatically: where you remove the Shopware copyright, it is gone in the cart, in the login and on the order confirmation page as well. What is new is that you can switch that off separately. Some people deliberately want to leave the checkout untouched. Now both are possible.
One limitation worth knowing: extensions and themes that bring their own checkout footer replace it completely. This setting then no longer applies there. That is true for any solution that rebuilds the checkout, and it is not a flaw but the order in which Shopware loads templates.
Am I actually allowed to do this?
The most frequent question, and the honest answer has two parts. The fact: Shopware 6 is published under the MIT licence. It requires the copyright and licence notice to remain in the copies of the software, that is, in the licence file in the code, which this plugin does not touch. The MIT licence text does not require a visible line in the storefront. The plugin only changes the output in the footer, nothing about your installation and nothing about your licence.
What we cannot tell you: whether it fits your case. Editions as well as partner and agency contracts may contain their own branding rules, and legal advice is not our job. If you are unsure, that is a two minute question to your Shopware partner, and afterwards you know instead of assuming.
What this plugin is and what it is not
It is a small, sharply cut tool for exactly one place in your store: the Shopware branding in the footer and in the page head. It installs, gets set up once, and after that you never think about it again. It is not a footer builder. It builds no footer columns, no footer navigation, no service links and no payment or shipping icons. Anyone who wants to rebuild the whole footer needs a theme, not a plugin.
It is built for the Shopware default theme. Themes that override the copyright line themselves win against the plugin. The setting then has no effect. That is not a flaw but the order in which Shopware loads templates: the theme has the last word.
It is not intended for ThemeWare® and it knows that itself. If ThemeWare® is active, the plugin steps back automatically instead of interfering. You can have the ThemeWare® branding removed free of charge on request via our Service Portal. You do not need this plugin for that.
→ Install it now. One dropdown, no code, no template changes.
For existing users: what this update changes
Nothing, unless you want it to. If you already use the plugin, your setting stays exactly as it is. The new dropdown will look empty afterwards, and that is precisely what carry on as before means. The new behaviour only applies once you pick an option there.Still, take one look at your footer after the update. Two minutes, and you are sure.
