About the Extension

Deliveries to a DHL Packstation or post office require a specific address format and, depending on the destination, a valid customer number. Asking customers to enter these details manually creates avoidable errors and can lead to failed deliveries.

This plugin adds a dedicated DHL pickup point option to registration, checkout and customer address forms. Customers search by address, postal code or city, compare available locations on a map or in a list, and transfer the selected location directly into the delivery address. The customer number is validated as exactly ten digits whenever it is entered, and the requirement can be adapted to the shop's process.

Is LocationIQ required?

No. DHL searches, pickup point results and distance values work without LocationIQ. The optional service adds a marker for the address or place entered by the customer.

Which external services receive requests?

A customer search sends the search location to the DHL Location Finder. Opening the map loads tiles from OpenStreetMap. LocationIQ receives a geocoding request only when an API key is configured.

What does the Packstation insights module record?

It records aggregate search events, whether a search returned results, rate-limit events and the responsible sales channel. It does not store the entered search text or visitor IP address in the analytics data.

How is Usercentrics connected?

Add the OpenStreetMap data processing service in Usercentrics, publish it, then enter its Template ID under Usercentrics template ID. The exact service name also works, but the Template ID is more stable.

Which countries are supported?

The pickup point search covers DHL Packstations and post offices in Germany.

Do I need a DHL API key?

Yes. The search uses the DHL Location Finder, which requires an API key from the DHL Developer Portal. You can check the connection directly in the plugin configuration and test the setup in sandbox mode.
