Full Control Over Your Category Visibility

With Category Visibility, you precisely define which categories appear in which Sales Channels. Perfect for multi-channel shops that need different assortments across different storefronts.

Three Flexible Visibility Modes

All Sales Channels: The category is visible everywhere. This is the default mode with no restrictions.
Only Selected Sales Channels (Include): The category is shown exclusively in your chosen Sales Channels. It remains hidden in all others.
All Except Selected Sales Channels (Exclude): The category is visible everywhere by default but hidden in the specifically selected Sales Channels.

Bulk Management for Entire Category Trees

The dedicated bulk management page in the catalogue menu lets you apply visibility rules to hundreds of categories at once. Select individual categories or entire category trees including all subcategories. Existing rules can optionally be overwritten or preserved.

Smart Safety Mechanisms

The plugin actively warns you when a configuration would result in a category being invisible in all Sales Channels. It also detects conflicts with entry point assignments and alerts you before navigation issues can arise.

SEO-optimized: Clean sitemaps

Hidden categories are not only removed from the navigation menu. They are also automatically removed from the sitemap for the respective sales channel. This helps you avoid broken links and ensures that search engines index only relevant pages.

How does the plugin handle newly created Sales Channels?

New Sales Channels are automatically treated according to the selected mode. In "Include" mode, categories will not be shown in the new channel (since it's not in the selection). In "Exclude" mode, categories will be visible in the new channel (since it's not excluded).

Can products in hidden categories still be found via search?

The plugin filters categories at the storefront level. Products assigned to other visible categories remain discoverable through those. The Elasticsearch integration ensures category visibility is also respected in search results.

What happens if I exclude all Sales Channels?

The plugin actively warns you before making a category invisible in all Sales Channels. You can still confirm the change, but you will be informed about the consequences.

Can I change visibility for many categories at once?

Yes, via the bulk management page under "Catalogues > Category Bulk Visibility" you can apply visibility rules to any number of categories simultaneously, including entire category trees with subcategories.

Which Shopware version is required?

The plugin requires Shopware 6.7 or higher.

Does category visibility also affect the sitemap?

Yes. Categories that are hidden for a sales channel are automatically removed from that channel’s sitemap. This ensures that search engines do not index pages that are not available on that channel.

Can I see which categories already have a visibility rule?

Yes. On the bulk management page, categories with existing rules are marked with an orange indicator. A tooltip shows you immediately which mode and which sales channels are configured—without having to open each category individually.
