Configuration Manual: VimirLabProductFinder

This manual provides a step-by-step guide to configuring the VimirLabProductFinder plugin and displaying it on your Shopware 6 storefront.

Part 1: Creating and Configuring a Product Finder

This is the main part of the setup, where you will define the questions, answers, and product associations for your finder.

1. Access the Product Finder Module

In the Shopware Admin sidebar, navigate to Catalogues.
Click on Product Finder in the menu.

2. Add a New Product Finder

You will see an overview of all the product finders you have created. To start a new one, click the Add Product Finder button in the top right corner.

3. Basic Configuration

Name: Give your finder a clear and descriptive name. This name is for internal reference (e.g., "Winter Jacket Finder," "Skincare Routine Guide").
Active: Ensure this box is checked. If it is not checked, the finder will not be available for selection on the storefront.

4. Building the Steps and Options

This is where you build the interactive questionnaire for your customers.

Add a Step: A "Step" is a single question or prompt you want to ask your customer.
- Click Add new Step.
- Enter the question in the Name field (e.g., "Which activity will you use it for?").
Add Options to a Step: An "Option" is a possible answer to the question in that step.
- Within the step you just created, click Add new Option.
- Enter an answer in the Name field (e.g., "Hiking," "Skiing," "City Wear").
- Assign Products: This is the most critical part. In the "Products" field for that option, search for and select all the products from your catalog that are suitable for that specific answer. For example, for the "Skiing" option, you would assign all your ski jackets.
- You can add multiple products to a single option.
Continue Building:
- You can add as many Options to a single Step as you need.
- You can add as many Steps to your finder as necessary to properly filter your products. Simply click Add new Step again to create the next question in the sequence.

5. Save the Product Finder

Once you have finished adding all your steps, options, and product assignments, click the Save button at the top of the page.

Part 2: Displaying the Product Finder on Your Storefront

After creating your finder, you need to place it on a page for customers to see. This is done using Shopware's Shopping Experiences.

1. Navigate to Shopping Experiences

In the Admin sidebar, go to Content > Shopping Experiences.
Select an existing layout to edit or create a new one.

2. Add the Product Finder Block

In the editor's right-hand sidebar ("Blocks"), find the Commerce block category.
Locate the Product Finder Block and drag it onto your desired position in the layout.

3. Configure the Block

Hover your mouse over the block you just added and click the settings gear icon to open the "Element settings" modal.
You will see a dropdown menu labeled Select Product Finder. Click on it and choose the finder you created in Part 1 from the list.
Click the Done button to close the settings.

4. Save the Layout

Finally, click the Save button in the top right corner of the Shopping Experiences editor to publish your changes.

Your Product Finder is now live on the storefront and ready for customers to use!
