Delivery Date Picker – preferred delivery date for plannable deliveries

The „Delivery Date Picker“ plugin adds a practical and effective feature to the Shopware checkout process: customers can select their preferred delivery date during the ordering process. This makes delivery easier to plan, as customers can choose a date when they will be at home or can ensure that someone is available to accept the delivery. This reduces misdeliveries, lowers the coordination effort and noticeably improves the shopping experience.

The display of the date field can be specifically controlled in the plugin configuration. Define for which delivery types the selection should appear so that the ‘Delivery Date Picker’ is only used where it makes logistical sense. In addition, blocked days can be stored that should not be selectable as desired delivery dates, such as public holidays, company holidays or days with limited delivery options.

Another advantage is lead time control. You can specify how many working days must elapse between the order and the earliest possible desired delivery date. This ensures that picking and shipping remain realistic. The working days can be configured flexibly. By default, Monday to Friday apply, but Saturday and/or Sunday can be activated as working days if processes or partners allow this.

The selected desired delivery date is displayed both in the customer account and in the admin area when the order is placed. This gives customers and shop operators transparency about the desired delivery date at all times. The result: clearer expectations, better planning and noticeably higher customer satisfaction thanks to the freedom to choose the delivery date.
