EU Withdrawal Button & Withdrawal Form

About the Extension
EU Withdrawal Button adds a withdrawal button and an online withdrawal form to your shop. Customers withdraw in two steps: "Withdraw contract" opens the withdrawal form, and "Confirm withdrawal" sends it. The plugin checks the details against the order, confirms receipt by email and lists the withdrawals in your Administration.
Withdrawal button where customers look for it
You choose for each sales channel where the withdrawal button appears. By default, customers find it in four places:
- as a link in the account menu
- as an entry in the action menu of an order in the order list
- as a button below the order details
- in its own footer column, also for guest customers
Optionally, the withdrawal button also appears on the order confirmation page, in the minimal footer of the checkout pages and in the header. In the header and footer, it can also appear as just an icon.
A withdrawal form in two steps
The withdrawal button opens the withdrawal form on its own page. An info box at the top states the 14-day withdrawal period, and the form asks for:
- first and last name, street and house number, postcode and city
- order number and email address for the confirmation of receipt
- order date and reason for withdrawal, both optional
- a checkbox that confirms the binding declaration
"Confirm withdrawal" sends the withdrawal form. Logged-in customers can pick one of their orders from a list, and the fields are filled in from the order and their account.
Withdrawal form details checked against the order
Before a withdrawal is saved, the plugin looks up the order in the current sales channel. Street, postcode and city must match the order's billing address, and the name must match the billing address or the order's customer. Extra spaces, the order of first and last name and upper or lower case (except in the postcode) don't matter.
- one withdrawal per order, a second attempt shows a clear message
- at most 5 attempts per IP address within 15 minutes
- the captchas you activated in Shopware also protect the withdrawal form
- the IP address is saved with the withdrawal only as a hash
- withdrawal pages are marked noindex and nofollow
Confirmation of receipt for the withdrawal form
After sending, customers see a confirmation page with their name, the order reference and the date and time of receipt. The email confirmation of receipt contains:
- date and time of receipt in the customer's browser time zone
- order reference and the address given
- a note that receipt is not yet a review of the withdrawal's validity
The email template comes in German and English and can be edited like any other email template. If the email can't be sent, the withdrawal is still saved and marked for you, so you can resend the email.
Withdrawal form submissions in the Administration
Under Orders > Withdrawals you see the received withdrawals with customer name, order reference, email, status, mail status and date received.
- search by name, email or order reference and filter by status
- set the status to Received, Processed or Rejected
- detail page with the customer data, the reason and an "Open order" button
- resend a failed confirmation email in the language of the withdrawal
- export all withdrawals, or only those with one status, as a CSV file
- separate View, Edit and Delete permissions for your users
Withdrawal button design per sales channel
All settings can differ per sales channel:
- button style Filled, Outline or Subtle, in your theme's error colour
- form style Default, Outline or Subtle
- form layout Boxed or Fullscreen
Storefront, email and Administration texts come in German and English.
