About the Extension

Improve address quality and speed up checkout with intelligent address assistance. As customers type in the street field, real-time suggestions from OpenStreetMap appear in a dropdown, allowing them to select a full address with a single click. Street name and house number can be displayed as separate input fields so they are stored cleanly in your system. When a customer enters a postcode, the matching city name is suggested automatically, reducing manual input and typos. First name, last name, city, and other address fields are automatically capitalized when the customer leaves the field, with intelligent handling of noble and family name prefixes like "von", "van", or "de" that stay lowercase. House number can be set as a required field to prevent incomplete addresses, and phone numbers are validated for correct format before the form can be submitted. All requests to the geocoding API are routed through a server-side proxy with built-in rate limiting, so no API keys are exposed in the browser. The plugin works with the public OpenStreetMap Nominatim server out of the box, but you can configure any Nominatim-compatible endpoint such as LocationIQ or Geoapify for higher traffic volumes. Autocomplete suggestions can be restricted to specific countries.
