About the Extension
Large media libraries drift. Files arrive through imports, product feeds and content work, and after a while nobody knows how many of them are missing alt text, sit outside any folder or are far heavier than they need to be.
This extension puts a working view on top of the media library that answers that question first. When you open it you see how many files exist, how much space they use, and how many are missing alt text, a title or a folder. Each of those numbers is also a filter. Click the count of files without alt text and you are looking at exactly those files.
From there you narrow down. The filter rail lists file types, size ranges, tags and uploaders with the number of matches beside each entry, so you know how much work is behind a selection before you commit to it. Folders sit above the images as a breadcrumb showing the subfolders of your current position, each with its file count, so moving through the library is a single click.
Fixing is the other half. Select files and set alt text, title, tags or folder for all of them at once. If the change should apply to every match of the current filter rather than only the page in front of you, it runs as a background job with a progress display, so several thousand files are no obstacle. Background jobs go through the message queue, so a worker needs to be running.
For work that needs a human eye, the detail panel opens beside the grid. It shows the preview, file size, dimensions and where the file is referenced in the shop, and it lets you write alt text and jump to the next file without touching the mouse. Working through a few hundred images stays a keyboard exercise instead of a series of page loads.
Alt text and title are translatable, so the plugin follows the language selector and writes to the language you picked. Files marked as private stay hidden, exactly as they do in the standard media module.
This does not replace the standard media module. Uploading, creating folders and deleting files stay where they are, and a link in the breadcrumb opens the media module at your current folder.
