Restrict the catalogue for customer groups and guests

About the Extension
Parts of the catalogue for the right customers only
In B2B not every product belongs in every hand: trade-only goods, spare parts that require installation, terms for individual brands. Shopware can hide products per sales channel, but not per customer group. This extension closes that gap, and it does so for the whole catalogue.
You create restrictions. Each one answers three questions: who it applies to, what it covers and what the visitor sees. Everything sits in one overview instead of being spread across hundreds of product masks.
Who the restriction applies to
- One or several customer groups
- Visitors without a customer account, including the checkout of a guest order
- Logged-in customers, regardless of their group
- Rules from the rule builder, for example country or cart value
What can be restricted
- Individual products
- Categories, optionally together with their subcategories and the products in them
- Manufacturers, which removes their entire range
- Shopping Experiences pages that are called on their own
- Payment and shipping methods
What the visitor sees
A restricted product disappears from the category listing, the search, the search suggestions, cross-selling as well as the product sliders and product boxes of the Shopping Experiences in any case, restricted categories additionally from the navigation. A restricted product cannot be put into the cart, and a line that was already in it before the restriction is removed by Shopware with a notice. The checkout replaces a restricted payment or shipping method with an unrestricted one. Anyone who knows the address anyway gets either a notice with your own text, the same notice with a login prompt, or the answer 404. The notice is the default: it tells the customer why the product is not shown instead of leaving them on an error page.
Technical notes
- The customer group becomes part of the identifier by which Shopware separates its page cache. Without it a customer would be served the cached page of another group, including the products restricted for them. As long as no restriction is active the cache stays as it was.
- Lists are filtered in the database, not in memory. Even with large ranges it stays at one additional join per query. With Elasticsearch or OpenSearch the same filter applies in the search index.
- Changes to a restriction take effect immediately, including pages that are already cached.
- Restricted addresses can be taken out of sitemap.xml. What counts is the view of a visitor who is not logged in, because the sitemap is generated without a customer.
- A restricted page additionally sends noindex and nofollow. The notice text is the same on every restricted address and therefore does not belong in the search index.
- A switch per sales channel turns the extension off there completely. The sales channel then behaves as if the extension were not installed.
- Access to the restrictions is controlled through a dedicated permission card in the roles, separated into viewing, editing, creating and deleting.
- The extension sets no cookies, transmits no data to third parties and leaves the availability rules of payment and shipping methods untouched.
- Uninstalling without keeping data removes all of its own tables.
