About the Extension

More product reviews – without giving away margin

Reviews decide purchases, but hardly anyone writes one unprompted. This plugin asks at the moment the item has actually been used, and says thank you with a personal voucher – issued only after the review has been submitted.

How it works

  1. Wait. A daily task looks for orders that changed to the "completed" state 45 days ago (freely configurable). The gap keeps enough distance to shop rating mails and makes sure the item has been in use at least once.
  2. Ask. The customer receives a review request by email listing every reviewable item of the order.
  3. Review. The link opens a dedicated landing page. Product and name are pre-filled, no login required.
  4. Reward. On submission an individual voucher code is created, shown on the page right away and confirmed by email.
  5. Approve. The review sits on the product as a regular Shopware review and goes through your usual approval in the administration.

The landing page

  • Every reviewable item of the order to choose from – including the product image
  • The name is pre-filled as first name plus last name initial and stays editable
  • Star rating, headline and free text
  • Live checklist that ticks off while typing, plus a character counter
  • Free gifts, configurator positions and already reviewed products are hidden automatically
  • Set to noindex, nofollow so the page stays out of the index

Review content requirements

One-word reviews help nobody. The plugin validates against a configurable set of rules, on the server as well as in the browser: minimum and maximum characters, minimum word count, minimum headline length, mandatory star rating, no links or email addresses, no text written entirely in capital letters and no long character repetitions.

The voucher

The voucher is based on a promotion you create yourself in the administration – value and condition are maintained there with the usual Shopware tools, for example 5 € from a cart value of 50 €. The plugin uses that promotion as a blueprint and generates individual single-use codes from it.

Because Shopware stores the validity range on the promotion rather than on the individual code, the plugin clones the blueprint once per issue day. Every recipient gets the full validity period starting from their own issue day – without creating thousands of promotions.

Legally considered

  • Unsubscribe link in every request. Unsubscribed addresses are stored permanently and never contacted again.
  • Voucher independent of the star rating. A poor review is rewarded exactly like a good one – technically there is no other option.
  • Traceability. Every review created this way is flagged as incentivised via a custom field and stays filterable in the administration.
  • No instant publishing. Reviews are unapproved and go through your normal moderation.

Configuration and administration

Every setting can be defined per sales channel: dispatch timing, catch-up window, mails per run, validity of link and voucher, blueprint promotion, code prefix and all content requirements. Both mail templates are created during installation and can be edited under "Settings › Email templates" as usual.

Under "Marketing" you find an overview of all sent requests including order number, dispatch time, number of submitted reviews and the issued voucher code. A CLI command with a dry-run mode is available for manual runs and testing.

Good to know

  • German and English are fully included – further languages can be added via snippets.
  • Dispatch is tied to the order state "completed". If that state is not maintained in your shop, nothing will be sent.
  • The daily task requires a running scheduler and message consumer.
  • Exactly one request is sent per order, even for multiple items.
  • The voucher is issued once per order, regardless of how many items of that order get reviewed.
