About the Extension

How it works

The plugin allows business customers to register and manage addresses without a salutation, first name or last name. When a business account has a company name and the first or last name field is left blank, the plugin automatically stores a placeholder. Wherever the name would normally appear, the company name is displayed instead – in the account overview, sidebar, address book, and on invoices, delivery notes, credit notes and cancellation invoices.

Requirement

The account type selection must be enabled in the shop: Settings → Login & registration → Show account type selection. Without this setting, the registration form offers no business option, and the plugin has no effect.

Important notes

Private customers and business customers without a company name remain unchanged – required fields stay required.
The profile page in the storefront account is excluded: first and last name remain required there.
The plugin does not override any mail templates. You can find Twig examples for email customisation in the README.

Why does the "Business" option not appear in the registration form?

The plugin requires the account type selection to be enabled in the shop: Settings → Login & registration → Show account type selection. Without this setting, all customers register as private customers, and the plugin has no effect.

Are private customers or business customers without a company name affected?

No. The plugin only changes business data with a company name provided. For private customers or when the company field is left blank, Shopware's own required fields for first and last name remain unchanged.

Why are first and last name still required on the profile page?

The storefront profile page is deliberately excluded. The name fields remain required there, and a stored placeholder "-" is displayed unchanged.

Does the plugin override mail templates?

No, the plugin does not override any mail templates. The README contains Twig examples you can use to customise your own templates so that business customers see the company name instead of the placeholder.

Does the plugin work on customer-group registration pages?

Yes, since version 7.0.0, first and last names are also optional on customer-group registration pages set to "company signup only".
