About the Extension

What the plugin does

The plugin checks and validates the input of postal codes and the length of city names whenever an address is created or changed – during account creation, in the profile and when editing addresses. This prevents incorrect or incomplete entries and reduces your effort in order processing.

Postal code validation

For each country you can define how the postal code is checked: via a regular expression, a minimum or maximum length, or by checking whether letters are allowed. Over 50 predefined regex patterns for the most important countries can be applied with a single click.

City name length

In the plugin configuration you define the maximum number of characters for entered city names. This is useful when your merchandise management system only allows limited lengths.

Street number requirement

Optionally, you can require that street names contain a house number.

How can I edit the error messages?

How can I edit the error messages?

Is the data validated on the front-end or back-end?

The data is validated on the backend side. This means that the error message is not visible immediately after text entry, but only after the form has been submitted.

When editing the address from the profile overview modal, the validation does not work?

The validation also works when editing the address in the profile overview. However, due to a Shopware bug, no error message is issued. As soon as this bug is fixed, an error message will be displayed. More technical information can be found here: https://issues.shopware.com/issues/NEXT-22451
