This plugin optimizes the images in your store and supports you in improving your technical search engine optimization (PageSpeed, see https://pagespeed.web.dev).
The plugin creates optimized images according to their integration when the website is called up. This means that exactly the images (pixels) required for the current end device are loaded. In addition to adjusting the size, care is taken to ensure that the images are also displayed sharply on mobile devices (with Retina display / Display Aspect Ratio) and are converted to current file formats (.webp/.avif).
The images created are processed via an interface on our servers in Germany and stored in your store. It is not necessary to install additional applications (e.g. ImageMagick, cwebp/dwebp, pngcrush, etc.). The images are used exclusively for the conversion and then deleted again.
Depending on the number of different images, different end devices and the type of image usage, this plugin will generate a (very) large number of images. The generated images are many times smaller than their source files. Nevertheless, you should assume an increased memory requirement!
