About the Extension

Cloudflare makes websites faster and safer with its global CDN, web application firewall (WAF) and DDoS protection. This extension connects your Shopware store to Cloudflare so you can manage the most important settings directly in the Shopware Administration.

What you can do in Shopware

Cache: clear all cached files with "Purge Everything" so Cloudflare fetches fresh versions.
Recommended settings: apply best-practice settings for Shopware with one click (e.g. medium security, optimised caching, minification).
Speed: development mode (bypasses the cache for 3 hours while you work on design or code), Always Online (serves cached pages if your server is down) and image optimisation with Polish and Mirage.
Security: set the security level from "Essentially Off" to "Under Attack" and fix mixed-content errors with automatic HTTPS rewrites.
WAF, DDoS & analytics: jump straight to the right place in your Cloudflare dashboard to set up firewall rules, DDoS protection and view traffic reports.

Setup

Install and activate the extension.
Open Settings › Extensions › Cloudflare and log in with your Cloudflare email and Global API Key.
Select the sales channel – the extension matches its domain to the site in your Cloudflare account.

1. Installation and Activation

•Log in to your Shopware 6 Administration.

•Go to Extensions > My extensions.

•Upload the plugin zip file or install it from the Shopware Store.

•Click Install and then Activate the extension.

2. Cloudflare API Connection

To link your store to Cloudflare, you must provide your API credentials:

1.Navigate to Settings > Extensions > Cloudflare.

2.In the Login screen, enter the following:

◦Email: Your Cloudflare account email address.

◦Global API Key: Your secret key from Cloudflare.

◦Note: You can find your Global API Key in your Cloudflare Dashboard under My Profile > API Tokens > API Keys.

3.Click Login. The plugin will automatically fetch your available "Zones" (Domains).

3. Sales Channel Setup

•After logging in, use the Sales Channel dropdown to select the store you want to configure.

•The plugin will automatically detect if the domain of the selected Sales Channel matches a "Site" in your Cloudflare account.

•Note: The domain in Shopware must match the site name in Cloudflare exactly for the integration to work.

4. Core Features & Cache Management

•Purge Cache: Under the Home tab, click Purge Everything to clear all cached assets. This forces Cloudflare to fetch fresh versions of your files from your server.

•Apply Recommended Settings: Click Apply to automatically configure Cloudflare with best-practice settings for Shopware (e.g., Medium security, optimized caching, and minification).

5. Speed & Optimization

•Development Mode: Toggle this ON when making code or design changes. This bypasses the cache for 3 hours (or until turned off) so you can see changes instantly.

•Always Online: When enabled, Cloudflare serves cached versions of your pages if your origin server goes down.

•Image Optimization: Enables "Polish" and "Mirage" to compress images and speed up delivery.

◦Requirement: This feature requires a Cloudflare Pro plan or higher.

6. Security Settings

•Security Level: Choose how aggressive Cloudflare should be in challenging suspicious visitors (Essentially Off, Low, Medium, High, or Under Attack).

•Automatic HTTPS Rewrites: Fixes "mixed content" errors by automatically changing http links to https.

•WAF & DDoS: Use the provided buttons to quickly jump to your Cloudflare dashboard to set up Firewall rules or deploy advanced DDoS protection.

7. Analytics

•Click View Analytics under the Analytics section to be redirected to your Cloudflare dashboard for detailed reports on traffic, threats blocked, and bandwidth saved.
