About the Extension

Sometimes customers know exactly what they want – but not what it's called. With Search by Image they simply upload a photo, screenshot or inspiration picture and see matching or similar products from your Shopware catalog. Ideal for fashion, furniture, lifestyle, electronics and any range where looks matter.

How it works

  • Customers upload an image in the storefront via file picker or drag & drop.
  • The extension analyses the image and ranks products by visual similarity such as colour, shape and overall appearance.
  • If no visual match is found, the standard Shopware search can take over (fallback).
  • Uploaded images are processed temporarily for the search and are not stored permanently by default.

Settings in the Administration

  • Enable image search and the storefront upload UI
  • Allowed image formats and maximum file size
  • Number of results and matching sensitivity
  • Fallback to the standard search

Changes take effect immediately. The extension runs alongside the default Shopware search and does not modify core files.
