Customer reviews are one of the strongest purchase drivers in e-commerce – and at the same time one of the hardest to influence. Review Boost gives you all the tools to collect more genuine reviews, make them more credible and use them strategically to boost your conversion.

Reviews That Convince

Customers can back up their reviews with photos and videos – building trust that no advertising copy can replace. A "Verified Purchase" badge shows directly that a review comes from a genuine buyer and links to the corresponding order. Visitors can mark reviews as helpful, with the most useful ones rising to the top.

Collect More Reviews Automatically

The biggest lever for more reviews: the right timing. Review Boost integrates fully with the Shopware Flow Builder and enables automatic review reminders after purchase – with a configurable waiting period, a selectable reference date (order date or shipping date) and a ready-made email template. Guest customers are guided directly to the review form via a secure deep link, and their review automatically receives the verified badge.

Maximum Reach

In addition to registered customers, guest customers and site visitors without an order can optionally also submit reviews – in a controlled way, with rate limiting and clear labelling. This allows you to gather feedback even in early stages without compromising credibility.

Visibility on Google

Schema.org rich snippets ensure that your reviews appear as stars directly in Google search results – more clicks, more traffic, more sales.

Installation

Open the Shopware backend and navigate to Settings → System → Plugins
Upload, install and activate the plugin
Clear the cache and log in again

Navigate to Extensions → My Extensions → Review Boost → Configure

General Settings

Enable Photo Upload

When enabled, customers can upload photos when writing a review (JPG, PNG, WebP). Enabled by default.

Maximum Number of Photos per Review

Defines how many photos a customer may upload per review. Default: 5.

Maximum File Size per Photo (Bytes)

Maximum file size of a single photo in bytes. Default: 5,000,000 (= 5 MB).

Show "Verified Purchase" Badge

When enabled, reviews from customers who have actually ordered the product automatically receive a "Verified Purchase" badge. Enabled by default.

Enable Helpfulness Voting

When enabled, visitors can mark reviews as "helpful" or "not helpful". Customers cannot vote on their own reviews. Multiple votes are prevented by a voter hash. Enabled by default.

Render Schema.org Rich Snippets

When enabled, structured data (JSON-LD) is output on the product detail page. This allows Google to display star ratings in search results. Enabled by default.

Who May Submit Reviews?

Allow Guest Customers to Submit Reviews

When enabled, customers who checked out as a guest (without a customer account) can submit a review – as long as their session is active. Name and email are automatically taken from the guest account. Guest reviews can receive the "Verified Purchase" badge. Disabled by default.

Allow Site Visitors Without an Order to Submit Reviews

When enabled, visitors who are not logged in and have no order can also submit a review. They enter their name and email in the form themselves. These reviews never receive the "Verified Purchase" badge, are limited to one review per product and email address, and are throttled via the contact form rate limit. Disabled by default.

Setting Up Review Reminders (Flow Builder)

Review reminders are managed entirely via the Shopware Flow Builder. The plugin ships with two pre-configured flows – the scheduling flow is intentionally inactive so that sending reminders remains a conscious decision.

Step 1 – Activate the Flow

Navigate to Marketing → Flow Builder and open the flow "Schedule Review Reminder". Configure the desired waiting period (e.g. 14 or 30 days) and activate the flow.

Step 2 – Choose the Reference Date

In the "Schedule Review Reminder" flow action, you can choose the reference date for the waiting period:

Flow trigger – waiting period starts from the moment the flow is triggered
Order date – waiting period starts from the date of the order
Shipping date – waiting period starts from the shipping date; if the order has not yet been shipped, the flow automatically waits until the delivery status is set to "shipped"

Step 3 – Customise the Email Template

The included email template can be edited under Settings → Email Templates. It contains the ordered products and a direct link to the review form on the product page.

Automatic Exclusions

The plugin automatically excludes the following recipients from reminders:

Cancelled orders
Already reviewed products
Recipients without review permission
Each order is reminded at most once

Moderation in the Backend

Navigate to Catalogue → Reviews. The plugin extends the native review management with the following features:

Columns "Verified" and "Helpful / Not helpful" in the review list
Sidebar filters "Created at" and "Verified Purchase" (from Shopware 6.7)
Review Boost card on the review detail page
Uploaded photos and videos viewable and individually deletable per review

Analytics Dashboard

The analytics dashboard is accessible via the "Analytics" tab in the native reviews module. It displays the following KPIs:

Total reviews, approved, pending
Share of verified purchases
Average rating
Helpful votes
Star distribution (1–5)

Filters by time period, sales channel and language are available.

After completing all settings, click "Save" and clear the cache.
