Who hasn't seen this before?

A wine retailer ships a single bottle in a box designed for twelve. A merchant orders three units even though the packaging unit requires six. The result: unnecessary picking effort, rising shipping costs, and dissatisfied customers on both sides.

By default, Shopware allows you to define minimum purchase quantities and quantity increments — but only globally, the same for all customer groups. What if your B2C customer can buy 6 bottles, but your restaurant customer may only order from 30 bottles upward?

The solution: Customer-group-specific quantity increments

GroupMinimumScaledOrder solves exactly this problem. The extension allows you to define individual minimum purchase quantities and quantity increments per customer group for each item — fully dynamic based on the groups defined in Shopware.

Flexible Multiple Scales per Customer Group

The extension now supports not just a single scale per customer group, but any number of tiered quantity ranges. This allows you to define different rules for different purchase quantities — for example:

  • Small quantities (2–10 items): scaling in steps of 2
  • Large quantities (11–30 items): scaling in steps of 5
  • Wholesale (from 31 items): scaling in steps of 10

This way, the scaling automatically adapts based on the quantity — without manual intervention and without special handling in the checkout.

The item Wine Châteauneuf-du-Pape red behaves completely differently for different customer groups:

  • B2C end customers buy from 6 bottles in increments of 6 — e.g. 6, 12, 18, 24 …
  • Restaurants (B2B) order from 30 bottles in increments of 12 — e.g. 36, 48, 60 …
  • Wholesalers, in turn, follow their own, even coarser quantity increments

Everything runs fully automatically: no manual checks, no checkout exceptions.

Product variants? No problem. Quantity increments and minimum purchase quantities are stored on the main variant and automatically apply to all variants. You can also define individual quantity increments and minimum purchase quantities for each variant.
