Sound familiar? A return, an employee benefit or a budget for B2B, and you are supposed to generate another code, email it and hope someone types it in. That is credit, not a gift voucher: run an account, post amounts, settle them in the shop.
With Prepaid, every customer gets a top up store credit account that feels like a bank account. You load credit, your customers redeem all or part of it at checkout. The account stays. Only the credit moves into the cart.
Credit is not a voucher
Vouchers live on codes, fixed values and often on PDFs and expiry dates. A credit account is topped up with any amount and applied directly to the cart. For a birthday you post a credit, and the customer does not have to redeem anything. Gift vouchers with artwork and shipping are a different product. This is about managing credit on the customer account.
How the credit is applied
The credit lowers the amount due. Your customers decide how much to use. Example: 50 euros in the cart, 20 euros of credit, 30 euros with a familiar payment method. If the credit covers the whole cart, no further payment is needed. For zero total orders you set the payment status automatically in the configuration.
On request, existing credit is redeemed automatically in the cart, with no extra step at checkout. You show the redemption form on the cart page, on the confirm page or on both, always, only when bookings already exist, or not at all. You can also apply credit to shipping costs.
With Rule Builder conditions, customer groups and an item tag you control who may redeem and which products stay excluded. Some groups can pay with credit only, others you lock out. Redemption can also follow an extra rule if you set one.
How Prepaid solves it day to day
You assign or deduct credit in the Administration. Every booking is traceable in the customer account and in the Administration, with internal and customer comments. A statistic shows total balances of all credit, your open liabilities. Per account you set status (active, inactive, locked) and currency.
You import and export bookings through the standard import/export module. When credit changes, flows run: notification emails to customers or internal processes. If the order status changes, credit is booked back automatically. You configure the transaction table in the customer account and visibility in the account menu per sales channel. A scheduled task removes old log entries after the lifetime you set.
Examples of use
Practical for returns
Instead of paying the amount out, you credit it. Turnover stays in the shop, the customer buys from you again.
Ideal for employees
Load credit onto employee accounts each month, for example in a company shop. The account sets the limit, without anyone handing out codes.
B2B customers with a budget
For business customers you set a budget per account. Orders still go through independently, the limit is not exceeded.
Introduce the credit account now
Install Prepaid and offer an account that combines loyalty, budget control and returns, without voucher codes. Top up in the Administration, redeem in the shop, pay the rest with the method your customers already use.

Compatibility
Our extension is generally compatible with all our own extensions, provided that the respective functionalities do not conflict with each other.
For third-party extensions, including Shopware’s premium extensions, we cannot guarantee unrestricted compatibility. Should any issues arise in this context, our support team will be happy to assist you.
Naturally, when new Shopware versions are released, we ensure that our extension is made compatible with them in a timely manner.

- The latest version of our extension, compatible with your Shopware version, is installed

- You have studied the manual in advance, as it already contains many helpful pieces of information
In most cases, it is necessary for us to have unrestricted access to your shop’s administration in order to analyze and fix the problem. Additionally, it may be required for you to provide us with FTP or ideally SSH credentials for your server. Please note that setting up and later removing these accesses is your responsibility.
For a smooth troubleshooting process, we recommend conducting support in a staging or development environment. This allows issues to be reproduced under controlled conditions without affecting your live shop.
